FUNDRAISER FOR CRUMLIN CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
There will be a ‘Fun Baking Morning for Kids’ in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital this Saturday 1st December from 10am until 1pm in Ballinderry. Join our expert local bakers for a fun morning of baking and decorating. Only €5 per child, booking is essential to Helen 087 2163313.
Then from 2-5pm on Saturday 1st December a sale of cakes and good quality used toys. Please support by bringing along cakes and buns etc., and old toys in good saleable condition to Ballinderry Village Shop (at the cross roads). All proceeds from both events to Crumlin Children’s Hospital

KILBARRON OPERATION TRANSFORMATION
Kilbarron Operation Transformation group will host a ‘Social Night’ in Hannigan’s on Saturday 8th December at 9.30pm. There will be music and a raffle on the night and all proceeds will go to Irish Cancer Research. All support greatly appreciated.

PARISH AWARDS
At the recent County Council’s 2012 Environmental Awards Terryglass Improvements Association and Kilbarron Development Association came 1st and 3rd respectively in the Nenagh area Tiobraid Alainn and Kilbarron New Cemetery came 3rd in the Nenagh area of Best Burial Grounds.  Well done to all involved in the various groups and a sincere thank you to all for the time they so generously give these important community works.

TERRYGLASS ICA
The monthly meeting of Terryglass ICA Guild took place on Wednesday 7th November in Terryglass Community Hall. Votes of sympathy were expressed with all the families who had bereavements since our last meeting and a minutes silence was observed. Congratulations were extended to Cloughjordan ICA Guild who celebrated its 50th anniversary. Seven members attended the celebrations and enjoyed an excellent evening of music, song and dance followed by delicious refreshments. Gerardine Wisdom and Bridie Cahalan attended An Grianan recently. Three members attended the Ballingarry group’s meeting for a floral demonstration by Angel Donovan and an informative talk on ‘Chimney Back Stops’. The Federation meeting will be in Dunkerrin on November 26th.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 5th December at 8pm and our President, Noi, will be providing the supper.

2012 CHRISTMAS TREE OF REMEMBRANCE
If you like to remember a loved one by making a donation to North Tipperary Hospice Movement you can do so by placing a contribution in the special envelopes available in the local shops and pubs. A tree will be placed in the Court House, Nenagh, and will be lit at 4.30pm on Saturday 8th December. If you would like a light to shine for your loved one please put the name of the person or family you wish to be remembered on the envelope with your donation. SHANNON RANGERS FC
Last weekend began with the u/16’s on Saturday morning in Ballinderry against Nenagh Celtic, on a frosty pitch Nenagh proved too strong for the home team and came away with a comprehensive 8-0 result. Hard luck lads. The u/13 game away to Sallypark was cancelled due to the weather so they decided to train instead. On Sunday the junior team’s game against Clough was also cancelled.
Don’t forget any outstanding calendar money/sponsorship to be dropped into Damien A.S.S.P. Training fixtures will be sent by text.

KILBARRON OLD CEMETERY
Subscriptions for upkeep and maintenance are now due and may be paid to Michael Molamphy (Jnr.) or Christy Cormican.

SILVERMINES FOLK CHOIR
Silvermines Folk Choir will present ‘The Spirit of Christmas@ in Silvermines Church on Sunday 2nd December at 8pm in aid of North Tipperary Hospice and St. Vincent de Paul. The tickets cost €10 each.

BOXERCISE
As part of a fitness regime Boxercise with Phil will take place in Kilbarron Hall each Wednesday from 8-9pm for the next few weeks. This is a great way to keep fit and improve muscles, it is open to everyone.
At present there is a group of 21 people locally taking part in ‘Operation Transformation’ to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and your sponsorship would be very welcome.

TRADITIONAL MUSIC CLASSES
Traditional Music Classes have resumed in Terryglass Hall on Thursdays. Instruments include the fiddle, flute and tin whistle. Beginners and improvers of all ages are welcome. For more details contact John on 087 2869269.

PILATES CLASSES
Pilates Classes with Geri have resumed on Thursdays, in Kilbarron Hall at 8pm. Beginners always welcome.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is – do not carry large amounts of valuables and cash in your bag. Don’t wear too much jewellery or valuables on your person. Spread your valuables i.e. your house keys in your bag, your mobile phone in your jacket and your cash in your trousers pocket.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Terryglass at 6.50pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

CHURCH NEWS
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered by Fr. Michael in Kilbarron Church on Sunday May 19th 2013 at the 11am Mass. First Holy Communion will take place in Terryglass on Sunday May 12th 2013 at 11am and in Kilbarron on Sunday April 28th 2013 at 11am.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The annual Christmas Party will take place on Monday 17th December at 1pm in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane.  The afternoon will commence with a hot drink on arrival followed by a hot meal of either, turkey and ham or salmon with a choice of desserts and the subsidized cost is €10. We are hoping that Santa will be able to pay us a short visit with a gift for all and then it will be time to start an afternoon of music, song and dance with Margaret and Rita and Seanie. Names can be given to any of the following, Jimmy Donnelly, Loretta Tiernan, Phyllis O’Meara, Sam Wilson.
Will members please note that the Thursday afternoon exercises have ceased for the winter.
