SHANNON RANGERS FC
The club wrapped up a great season last Saturday at Elsie’s with its ‘Awards Night’. On the night the squad received its 3rd Division runners up medals, along with a club polo shirt, kindly sponsored by the club and Elsie’s. To the awards- first up was ‘you know who’ John Flannery, who received two awards, the first for ‘Player of the Year’ and second for ‘Top Scorer’, well done John. Then we had ‘Young Player of the Year’ won by Sean Moran, who showed great form all season and well due the trophy. The ‘Most Improved Player’ went to Josh McKenna, who went from strength to strength during the season. This year we introduced the Club President Awards and these two went to Larry Dunne and Timmy Carroll for their early years of hard work for the club and also their continued support. Well done to all the award winners and many thanks to Larry Dunne MC on the night and to Damian and Siobhan of Elsie’s for their venue use and continued sponsorship. After what was an excellent season for the club we hope to have our AGM next month. Finally we would like to say ‘best of luck’ to all clubs in the parish over the coming months and hopefully they will all see success also.
