Day for Life is today and continues to raise awareness of the value of human life at every stage. The theme this year is “The Good Samaritan”, a model of compassion in the context of the recent proposal to introduce assisted suicide here in Ireland. This year’s message invites Catholics to consider a more positive and compassionate response to the care of people who are in the final stages of life.

Season of Creation 2021  As the Season of Creation draws to a close we approach the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the well known saint who will forever be associated with creation, animals, the environment and the poor.

As we celebrate the feast of St. Francis on Monday October 4th, , may we do so with a greater sense of gratitude for God’s abundant gifts. May our voices unite with the voice of St. Francis of Assisi and never stop giving God praise for the world in which we live. St. Francis of Assisi pray for us!

Mission Sunday 24th October – is the Pope’s annual appeal to support overseas missionaries.

This year’s theme is “We cannot remain silent”. It is a challenge to stand up and speak out on behalf of those whose voices are too small to be heard.  Missionaries face extraordinary pressure because of the unrelenting pandemic with low levels of vaccination and the unrelenting poverty. Everyone is invited to please make a small contribution which will help enormously.

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY the maintenance fees for 2021 are now due and would be greatly appreciated.  Please contact John Mulvihill at 087 2185833 or terryglasscemetery@gmail.com. The cemetery rules are displayed on the church notice boards for perusal.

October month of our Lady Thursday 7th Oct. is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.  We are invited to say the Rosary each day or have  a little altar to Our Lady.

Angel sent by God to guide me,

Be my light and walk beside me.

Be my Guardian and protect me,

On these paths of life direct me.
