NTH TIPP HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING
As part of Ireland’s ‘Biggest Coffee Morning’ Bridie Cahalan and Mary Quirke with their colleagues from Terryglass ICA Guild will hold a coffee morning in Terryglass Community Hall this Thursday 19th September from 9am until 1pm in aid of North Tipperary Hospice Home Care Movement. Your continued support will be greatly appreciated to help to maintain the hospice homecare service we have in place for cancer patients and their carers in the area. All funds raised stay in the area.
So come and join us for a cup of tea/coffee and some home baking, we especially invite you to come and avail of this opportunity to join others for a chat that morning.
Official Nth Tipp Hospice collection boxes will be in The Derg and Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass for contributions if you cannot attend the coffee morning.

RED CROSS COLLECTION
The Nenagh Branch of the Irish Red Cross will hold a Church Gate Collection at all Masses in Terryglass and Kilbarron this weekend, 21/22 September.
The money collected goes to maintain our ambulances and training of members of the Red Cross, so we can continue to provide services to the public on a voluntary basis. Your generosity will be much appreciated.

KILBARRON DEVELOPMENT
Kilbarron Development group was delighted to learn that it had increased its points by 11 in this year’s Tidy Towns Awards, this puts them in joint 3rd place in Nth. Tipp. Category A. The organisers wish to express their grateful thanks to the FAS workers for their grass cutting and hedging and to the local people for the massive amount of work they have put in over the summer months. Plans are already in place for further improvements in 2014 where the area of recycling and water conservation will be of special focus. Well done Kilbarron.

TIDY TOWNS AWARDS
Congratulations to Terryglass who again scored extra points to retain its 2nd place in theTidy Towns Awards Nth. Tipp. Category A and also obtaining a Commended Award. Congratulations to PJ Starr who received a 2013 Tidy Towns Hero Award.

SHANNON ROVERS BOOK

The recently published book ‘Past to Present’ compiled by Frank Moran is available to purchase for €15 from Paul Moran 087 4171697 or Paul McMahon 087 2534887. This excellently produced tome is filled with pictures spanning the club’s history from 1905 until the present day. All proceeds from the sales of the book will go to the Shannon Rovers juvenile club.

COFFEE MORNING FOR MILFORD HOSPICE
Bridie O’Meara and friends will hold a Coffee Morning’ at her home in Ballinderry on Thursday 19th September from 10.00am-1.00pm. All proceeds will go to Milford Hospice, Limerick. Please come and join us for a cup of coffee or tea and sample the home baked cakes and tarts while supporting this worthwhile cause. If you cannot attend a donation may be given to Bridie

JUMBLE SALE
The Charity Jumble Sale in Terryglass Community Hall over the bank-holiday weekend approaches and now is the time to collect all saleable items such as bric-a-brac, toys, books, pictures etc., also unwanted items suitable for raffle prizes. Two days of bargain hunting and much more, there is sure to be something for everyone, so come and don’t miss out on finding that special something.
If you require your items to be collected contact Mary McGeeney. Volunteers needed and willing help greatly appreciated, especially for the preparation of the sale and the clean up afterwards.
All proceeds will go to raising funds for the Building For Hope Project in Africa, which provides orphanages for the sight impaired. For further information contact Mary McGeeney 067 22164.

SHANNON ROVERS CAMOGIE CLUB
Shannon Rovers Camogie Club will hold an auction on Sunday 3rd November to raise badly needed funds. If you would like to help in any way with the planning and running of the event please contact any club member.

KILBARRON CHURCH 200
The next meeting will take place this Wednesday 18th September in the Old School Hall, Kilbarron at 8.30pm.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is to improve security when out and about. Keep wallets and purses out of sight, held or shoulder bags should be held close to the body and not dangling by the strap. Keep cash to a minimum and only carry credit/debit cards that are needed and be alert when parking and getting out of your vehicle.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
