THE LATE MAMIE KELLY
The death has occurred in England of Mamie Kelly, nee Hough. Funeral to Terryglass Church on Wednesday evening 23rd October and Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her husband Joe and the family.
JUMBLE SALE
The annual charity Jumble Sale is in Terryglass Community Hall over the Halloween bank-holiday weekend, Saturday26th /Sunday 27th October, opening from 10.00am until 6pm and on Monday morning 28th October. It is still not too late to give such items as bric-a-brac, toys books, clothes, plants, home produce, home baking or suitable raffle prizes.
Anyone who can spare an hour or so over the weekend would be much appreciated.
All proceeds will go to raising funds for the ‘Building For Hope’ project in Africa, which provides orphanages for the sight impaired. Two men from the parish will go out to this project early in 2014 and this gesture will be greatly appreciated by the organisers of this undertaking. KILBARRON/TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Kilbarron/Terryglass Historical Society are in the early stages of a project to attempt to get in contact with relatives of anyone from the parish who took part in World War 1, with a view to collecting stories of their experiences and hopefully reconnect people with a shared past. If you had relatives who took part in any role and would like to share their stories or perhaps you may have photos, memorabilia etc., we would love to hear from you.

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
Terryglass Improvements Association will hold its annual general meeting this Wednesday 23rd October in the Community Hall, Terryglass at 8.30pm. All are welcome to join us, light refreshments will be served afterwards.
NTH TIPP HOSPICE THANK YOU
A very sincere thank you to all who came and supported the Coffee Morning in Terryglass Hall on September 19th. It was not just a successful fund raiser for the North Tipperary Hospice but also a social morning for local people to meet and have a chat, while enjoying a ‘cuppa’ for a very worthy cause. Thank you also to the hall committee for the use of the hall. to The Derg Inn and Paddy’s Bar for allowing collection boxes in their premises and also to three members of the Nth. Tipp. Hospice Board, not only for attending but staying and enjoying the hospitality and banter with the local community and to all who made donations. A total of €500.20 was raised from the event.
SHANNON ROVERS CAMOGIE CLUB
The Shannon Rovers Camogie Club will hold an Auction on Sunday 17th November from 1.30pm in Kilbarron, to raise badly needed funds. Timber and turf and agricultural produce etc., will be auctioned, there will be light entertainment for children also a Cake Sale and Raffle and much more. The Tip of the Week is- People still continue to receive computer cold call scams. You the owner of a computer receive an uninvited call from a call centre abroad, the number may appear to be Irish and the caller may use your name. The caller will ask if you have a PC in the house and say they are calling on behalf of a well known computer company and will check your computer for problems.
Do not give these people any personal details which will give them access to your computer, just put the phone down.
USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once clean). Bags can be left into Kilbarron School any Friday from now until the collection date of November 18th
BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
