BALLINDERRY SPORTSFIELD FUNDRAISING DRAW
Ballinderry Sportsfield will be holding its confined draw in the Pavillion at 7pm on Saturday July 30th. The total prize fund is €5000 with a first prize of €3000 and another four prizes of €500 to be won. The field committee would like to thank the many individuals, organisations and businesses both within and beyond the parish for their generous support for the draw. Through this support we will be able to clear the remainder of the development loan on our vital community facility.

THE NENAGH SHOW
The Nenagh show is on next Monday, August 1st in the Showgrounds, on the Borrisokane Road. It’s a great day out for all the family, with the usual attractions of horses, cattle, show jumping and dog show. New attractions this year include the Victorian poacher, terrier racing and tug-o-war. PUBLIC MEETING OF CRANN IN ROSCREA
A general public meeting to re-activate and re-orgainse the South West Midlands Branch of Crann (the organization trying to releaf Ireland) will be held in Biddys (O’Rourke’s) Rosemary Square, Roscrea on Wednesday 27th July at 9pm. All are welcome to attend. The president of the branch, George Cunningham will give an introductory address on the former activities of the branch and indicate hopes for its future. If you have any interest in trees and forests and all the associated features of these, the biggest living things on earth, please come along; always pleasant gatherings. New officers will be elected and a plan of activities associated with tree care and planting will be discussed. Elsewhere in Ireland, Crann branches have become associated with Tidy Towns committees as planting is a huge part of any urban improvement. SW Midlands Crann hopes to become associated with the Tidy Towns committees in their area. The editor of Crann will hold a free raffle for copies of the award winning Heritage Trees of Ireland and for copies of his Round Tower book for all those attending on the night.

There is Bingoo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,500. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
