LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The next outing is to The Thatched Cottage on Monday 13th June at 1pm for a three course meal, followed by an afternoon of music, song and dance with Seanie.
The menu choice is Beef, Turkey and Ham or Cod, with a variety of desserts. The subsidized cost is €10, names to Jimmy Donnelly 089 4186944 or Loretta

KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society invites everyone to The ‘Night’ of the round table’ in Riverrun Tea Rooms on Thursday June 9th from 8pm. This will be an evening of memories, parish history, folklore, traditions, times past, parish achievements and much more. Everyone is welcome to come along and share their stories and memories of growing up in the parish. It is this oral history which is an invaluable part of the heritage of the parish which should be captured for future generations to benefit from. Refreshments will be provided on the night.

CHURCH NEWS
ANNUAL PARISH NOVENA TO THE SACRED HEART
Continues this week as follows –
Kilbarron Church: Wednesday 1st June: 7 – 7.45pm. – before 8pm. Mass.
Terryglass Church: Thurs 2nd June: 8 – 8.45pm. Friday 3rd June: 7 – 7.45pm. followed by Mass at 8pm. for the Feast of the Sacred Heart and the 1st. Friday.
The Novena will consist of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and during that time we will have the Rosary and the Novena prayers. We hope as many as possible will come for the full time, but if this is not convenient for you, please feel welcome to drop in any time and join in, even for five or ten minutes.
EXAM STUDENTS
The Mass on Saturday night June 4th at 8pm is a special Mass for all our exam students. You are welcome to add a name to the list in the Churches and they will be remembered at all Masses during exam time.
FIRST FRIDAY
Friday June 3rd – Masses in Kilbarron at 9am and Terryglass at 8pm preceded by Adoration at 7pm and Benediction at 7.50pm. Confessions will be available before both Masses.
PASTORAL COUNCIL
.The time has come to elect a new Pastoral Council in our Parish. We would like to thank the outgoing members for their tremendous work of leadership over the past 4 years. Each household will receive a ballot paper this week –closing date for nominations is Sunday June 12th. Everyone is invited to participate in this and to take it seriously so that our faith community can continue to grow and flourish under the leadership of the Pastoral Council.
Current PPC members : Henrietta Glynn, Mary Ryan (Ballyscanlon), Angelina Starr, James Haugh, Ger Leenane, James Mulvihill. The following members have served 2 terms and are not eligible for nomination – Una Caulfield, Lisa McGeeney, Mary Hogan (Lacken), Christy Cormican, Ger Fox, Willie Ryan

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY

KILBARRON NEW GRAVEYARD

KILBARRON N.S. USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
The Parent’s Association of Kilbarron N.S. is organizing a clothing collection as part of this year’s fundraising events. They are looking for your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to the school any Friday or if you need collection please contact Siobhan at 087 6986054.

BINGO

There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
