host Mission Appeal Members of the Missionary Society of the Spiritans (Holy Ghost Missions) visit us next weekend July 2nd and 3rd.
They will preach at all Masses on their Missionary Work and take up a Retiring Collection as you leave mass.

National Synod Gathering Athlone
Last Saturday 160 people gathered from across the Irish Church in Athlone. The themes emerging from the Synodal Process are the same right across the country. “While each diocese had its own particular experience of the Synodal Pathway, nevertheless what we heard today were many common themes emerging across the country – North and South – such as:
- The continuing importance of faith in people’s lives.
- Reflections on our sense of belonging to church;
- Expressions of how abuse is part of the story of the Church.
- A call for much greater roles of women at all levels in the future of Church.
- Attention to sexuality, relationships and LGBTQI+ concerns.
- The importance of education, catechesis, youth, family and co-responsible leadership.
- Lay ministry, culture and the impact of Covid-19; as well as to faith formation, clergy and liturgy.
