JUMBLE SALE
Time is flying by towards the annual Charity Jumble Sale to be held in Terryglass Community Hall over the Halloween bank-holiday weekend, 26th /27th October. Any saleable items such as bric-a-brac, books, toys, plants, pictures, home produce, home baking, also items that would make suitable raffle prizes would be very welcome. If you need donated sale items collected this can be arranged. Anyone who can spare an hour or so over the weekend would be much appreciated.
All proceeds will go to raising funds for the ‘Building For Hope’ project in Africa, which provides orphanages for the sight impaired. Three men from the parish went out to this project early in 2012 and did invaluable work. For further information contact Mary McGeeney 067 22164

SHANNON ROVERS GOLFING SOCIETY
The next outing of the Shannon Rovers Golfing Society is the Captains Prize outing to Portumna Golf Club this Saturday 12th October. Tee time 1.30-2.30pm.

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
Terryglass Improvements Association will hold its annual general meeting on Wednesday 23rd October in the Community Hall, Terryglass at 8.30pm. All are welcome to join us, light refreshments will be served afterwards. Please also see the article in the Nenagh Guardian on Terryglass, highlighting its success in the recent Tidy Towns Competition.

SHANNON ROVERS CAMOGIE CLUB
The Shannon Rovers Camogie Club will hold an Auction on Sunday 3rd November from 1.30pm to raise badly needed funds. Timber and turf will be auctioned, there will be Face and Nail Painting, Lucky Dip, Cake Sale, Cooper Helmets for sale and much more. If anyone would like to donate timber please get in touch with any club member and felling and splitting can be arranged.

THANK YOU
Bridie O’Meara and friends would like to thank all who supported the recent Coffee Morning in aid of Milford Hospice, Limerick, which was a huge success and raised €730. A thank you is extended to those who baked cakes, buns and tarts, those who attended and everyone who made generous donations.

CHRISTMAS POP UP SHOP
We are hoping to host a Christmas Pop Up Shop in Riverrun House, Terryglass, from late November. We are looking for any interested parties in the area, such as Foods, Crafts and Arts etc., who wish to display or sell their products and crafts, to get in contact with us. SHANNON ROVERS BOOK
The recently published book ‘Past to Present’ compiled by Frank Moran is available to purchase for €15 from Paul Moran 087 4171697 or Paul McMahon 087 2534887. This excellently produced tome is filled with pictures spanning the club’s history from 1905 until the present day. All proceeds from the sales of the book will go to the Shannon Rovers juvenile club.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The month of October is Community Alert Awareness Month. Community Alert operates on a partnership between An Garda Stations and the public. It works on the basis that every member of the community can help to improve the quality of the area by keeping a look out for neighbours and reporting suspicious activities to the Gardai.
So be active, be alert and be involved. Aim to reduce social isolation, create a safer, caring community, be a good neighbour, also visit older people and vulnerable people in the community.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once clean). Bags can be left into Kilbarron School any Friday from now until the collection date of November 18th

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
On Monday 21st October we will go to The Thatch, Ballycommon, at 1pm for a three course meal and an afternoon of music and dancing with music supplied by Seanie. The meal choice is beef and Yorkshire pudding, stuffed turkey or cod and for dessert either trifle, apple crumble or strawberry roulade. The subsidized cost is €10.
