Huge congratulations to Cillian Dunne, Kilbarron who returned from the International Wheelchair & Amputee World Junior Games in the Czech Republic on Sunday with two silver medals and a bronze medal. In addition to winning the bronze in the 100 meters, and the silver in both the 200 and 400 meters, Cillian also recorded a new personal best time in the 800 meters competition. All the training and hard work that Cillian has put into preparing for this event has paid off and we are so proud to have a world champion athlete in Kilbarron.

The AGM for Terryglass Arts Festival takes place in Terryglass Hall on Thursday July 7th at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome.

Ballinderry Sportsfield will be holding a confined draw on Saturday July 30th. The purpose of the draw is to clear the Sportsfield’s development loan. The draw will be limited to 250 tickets which are currently on sale for €100. The prize fund is €5000 with a first prize of €3000 and another four prizes of €500 to be won. The Sportsfield has served the parish withy facilities for 45 years. The field and dressing rooms are used by four separate sporting bodies and serves over 250 players. The meeting room is used by another five community groups in addition to our sports clubs. Your support would be greatly appreciated and will serve to ensure the maintenance of these facilities.

The AGM of Kilbarron Group Water Scheme will take place next Monday, July 11th at 8.30pm in the Small Hall. All members are invited to attend.

There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,500. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
