THE LATE TESS O’DONOGHUE
The death of Tess O’Donoghue, Green Lane, Borrisokane, formerly Condon, Nenagh, occurred on Monday 29th October. Removal took place from St. Joseph’s Funeral Home, Borrisokane on Tuesday evening to Kilbarron Church and after Requiem Mass on Wednesday interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. Tess was the beloved wife of Michael and the last member of a family of eleven. Tess had worked as a nurse in Nenagh Hospital and was a popular and friendly lady. She loved to have visitors and also liked visiting friends, she enjoyed nothing better than to browse around the shops. Sympathy is extended to her husband Michael, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

THE LATE PADDY WALSH
The death of Paddy Walsh, Slevoir, Terryglass occurred on Tuesday 30th October. Removal took place from St. Joseph’s Funeral Home, Borrisokane on Thursday evening and after Requiem Mass on Friday interment took place in the adjoining cemetery.  Paddy who was a much loved father and grandfather was a native of Knochnagoshel, Co. Kerry and in his mid nineties. He was a popular and highly respected member of the community. Paddy was predeceased by his wife Mary and son Maurice.  Sympathy is extended to his daughters Anne and Maisie, sons Seamus, Michael and Padraig, sister Kathy, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

DEATH
The death occurred on Thursday 1st November of Hilda Kent, Elmville, Terryglass. Sympathy is extended to her family.

ROVERS GOLFING SOCIETY
Rovers Golfing Society would like to extend its deepest sympathy to the family of the late Jim Egan. Jim was one of the founder members of the Society and held the position of Captain in 1993. He also kindly donated a Cup which is played for annually as part of the Captain’s Prize. He was a great supporter of the Society up until he put away his clubs. He will be sadly missed by all members both old and new.

LADIES CHRISTMAS NIGHT OUT

SHANNON RANGERS FC
The Rangers were at home again last Sunday in the league, this time Lough Derg were the opponents in what was another hard fought result, the final score was 3-3 but Rangers had to fight to gain the draw with goals from John Flannery 2 and Keith Kelly. Lough Derg went
2-1 ahead then 3-1 before Rangers grabbed 2 more to equalise just before the final whistle. Thanks to all who showed up on the day. The u16s had no game but the u13s lost 7-4 to Shinrone in Ballinderry on Saturday in what was a very entertaining fixture with some great football being played by both sides. Note for your diary-The Junior Club are launching their “2013 Naked Calendar” this Saturday night in “Elsies”, there will be music on the night by “Sod Man”, raffle and spot prizes. Calendars cost 10 euro each and bookings can be made in “Elsies” or by contacting 087-7640779 so come along for a goods night of craic with the Rangers and maybe sneek a look at some familiar “faces” !

TERRYGLASS ICA
Our next meeting is this Wednesday November 7th at 8pm, new members very welcome.

BOXERCISE
As part of a fitness regime Boxercise with Phil will take place in Kilbarron Hall each Wednesday from 8-9pm for the next five weeks. This is a great way to keep fit and improve muscles, it is open to everyone.
At present there is a group of 21 people locally taking part in ‘Operation Transformation’ to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and your sponsorship would be very welcome.

TRADITIONAL MUSIC CLASSES
Traditional Music Classes have resumed in Terryglass Hall on Thursdays. Instruments include the fiddle, flute and tin whistle. Beginners and improvers of all ages are welcome. For more details contact John on 087 2869269.

PILATES CLASSES
Pilates Classes with Geri have resumed on Thursdays, in Kilbarron Hall at 8pm. Beginners always welcome.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- is on interior lighting. It is important that where a house is vacant that an impression is generated to would-be intruders that it is in fact occupied. This can be achieved by using plug in timers connected to table lamps or other lights, a radio or music centre to create the normal sounds in the house.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Terryglass at 6.50pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

CHURCH NEWS
The Remembrance Mass for the Holy Souls will be in Terryglass Church on Saturday 17th November. We will remember all those who have died since last November. If you would like a family member or friend who has died elsewhere during the year to be remembered on the night please submit their names in advance. Candles will be supplied and named for your loved ones and there will be an opportunity during Mass to bring them to the altar.
November Station Masses will be as follows: Kilbarron Saturday November 24th at 8pm and Terryglass on Sunday 25th November at 9.30pm.
