RELAY FOR LIFE
Come and join Marcella and her team for a 24 hour relay in honour of all affected by cancer to raise funds and awareness for cancer support services in Tipperary. Taking place in Toomevara GAA grounds on the weekend of 15th & 16th Aug including candle of hope ceremony and plenty of fun and activities for everybody over the 24 hours.To become a team member just contact Marcella on 087 6879502. You may also purchase a candle or candles of hope in honour of a special someone for €5, this candle will be laid out and lit during the candle of hope ceremony. Or just come and visit us in Toomevara over the weekend.
BALLINDERRY SPORTS FIELD
The Annual Shannon Rovers Golf Classic will take place on Friday 10th July at Nenagh Golf Club. This year’s classic is a fundraiser for Ballinderry Sportsfield. This year’s Golf Classic is an 18 hole champagne scramble with prizes of over €2,000 on offer. Entry fee is €100 per team of four. Maximum handicap for this competition is Ladies 30 and Gents 20. Tee times are filling up quickly. In order to avoid disappointment please contact Declan on 087-4162651 to book your team’s tee time. Sponsorship for tee boxes would be greatly appreciated and can be given to any field committee member.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society are planning a trip to Holy Island on Sunday July 19th. Anyone interested can contact a committee member, post message on the facebook page or email kilbarronterryglasshistsociety@gmail.com. Once we have an idea of numbers and the interest we can allocate a cost. It is hoped that this cost will not be too much and with some fine weather should be a great outing.
The Society had a very successful trip to Glasnevin Cemtery and the National War Memorial Gardens on Sunday 28th June. Over 30 people took part and were given fantastic tours at both locations. Huge thanks to all those who took part and made the day such a success especially the organising committee who made sure everything ran smoothly.
LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Our next outing is on Monday 13th July to Galway. The coach will leave Borrisokane at 10.30am, stopping in the city for some shopping. BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
