THE LATE NORA HOGAN
The death of Nora Hogan, nee Downey, occurred at the Dean Maxwell Home, Roscrea on Monday 1st April. After reposing at St. Joseph’s Funeral Home, Borrisokane, on Tuesday evening removal took place to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Terryglass on Wednesday morning for Funeral Mass, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Nora was born in Terryglass and after her marriage to Ben they went to live in America, but returned in the mid 1970’s to take up life again in their home parish. Nora was well respected in the community and had a great love of Irish dancing and had won many trophies, she also enjoyed gardening. Nora was predeceased by Ben who died in 2010 and she had lived in the Dean Maxwell Home for a number of years. Sympathy is extended to her sister-in-law Etty, her nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Mary Tierney, Ballyscanlon, on the recent death of her mother Bridget Fogarty, Nenagh.

HERB BOX PROJECT
We would like to congratulate the Herb Box Project that made €50 profit for Terryglass National School. Under the sponsorship of Marina Craig, they prepared and potted Herb Boxes and sold them on St. Patrick’s Day at the Village Market. This educational project was funded by the Terryglass Improvements Assoc. A huge thank you is extended to the following children who took an active role in the project: Emer Fogarty, Leanne Mahon, Michael Hough, Conor Corboy, Michael Fogarty, Aisling Walsh, Sadie Donoghue, Tegan Craig, Mieke Curran and Gillian Craig.

KILBARRON TIDY TOWNS
Work evenings have commenced in Kilbarron village on Monday evenings, if you can come along to the village green at 7pm, your help would be greatly appreciated.

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
The National Spring Clean has commenced in Terryglass village and will meet at the village green on Tuesday 16th April, at 7.15pm, your help is always appreciated.

OPERATION TRANSFORMATION
Operation Transformation has started again each Wednesday night at 8pm in Kilbarron Hall, and Boxercise classes suitable for all levels of fitness will take place.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The next club outing will take place next Monday 15th April to The Thatched Cottage, Ballycommom, for a three course meal at 1pm. The choice of main course is either beef, turkey or cod and desserts are apple crumble, trifle or strawberry roulade. The afternoon will continue with music and dancing to Seanie’s music. The subsidized cost is €10 and your name and meal order can be given to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237 or Loretta Tiernan 28066.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- is just a few general tips. Keep property secure- get window and secure door locks fitted. Always remember to keep your front and back doors locked. Always ask for ID before letting anyone into your house- it is OK to say no if you are not sure. Lock your car and do not leave valuables in it, even for a short time. Get a smoke alarm fitted and check your fire alarm regularly. Have a fire plan, including keeping all escapable routes clear.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Kilbarron, Ballinderry and Terryglass to the Saturday 8pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.10pm. For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.
