KILBARRON/TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Ger Madden will be giving a talk ‘Brian Boru and his connections with Lough Derg’. This will take in Brian Boru’s association with Terryglass, Islandmore and Holy Island. The talk will take place in Terryglass Hall at 7.30pm this Friday 11th April. Admission is free with donations welcome.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Michael Dore, Roedean, on the recent death of his brother James Dore, Listowel.

KILBARRON CHURCH 200
The next meeting for Kilbarron Church 200 will take place this Wednesday, 9th April, at 8.30pm in the Old School Hall. All are welcome.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Please start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped into Kilbarron School any Friday from now on, until collection date, June 5th. If you need to have your bags collected please contact Carmel Fox on 087 6359492.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The Tip of the Week is- just a few general tips. Keep property secure- get window and secure door locks fitted. Always remember to keep your front and rear doors locked. Always ask for ID before letting anyone into your house- it is OK to say no if you are not sure. Lock your car and do not leave valuables in it, even for a short time. Get a smoke alarm fitted and check your fire alarm regularly. Have a fire plan, including keeping all escapable routes clear.

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
National Spring Clean on Tuesday 15th April. Clean up of the village and approach roads, meeting in the village green at 7.15pm. Everyone is very welcome to assist in working together as a community.

CHURCH NEWS
There will be a Penitential Service in Kilbarron Church on Wednesday 16th April at 8pm. Come and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of our parish preparation for Easter.
During Lent a little prayer and reflection around the Sunday readings will take place in Kilbarron NS on Wednesday evenings from 8-9pm. All are welcome.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 .
