TERRYGLASS ARTS FESTIVAL
This years Arts Festival runs from Wednesday August 16th to Sunday 20th . There is a very exciting programme of events, ranging from workshops to visual arts to live music in the village and of course the fireworks display on the Saturday evening. Among the highlights this year are , ‘Marion’ a comedy suitable for 16 years plus, in Terryglass Village Hall at 8pm on Thursday 17th, the Gala concert on Friday 18th in Terryglass church featuring Irish folk group, Kila and the family fun day on Sunday 20th. There really is something for everyone. Tickets for all events are now available and early booking is advised. LEAVING CERT RESULTS
Good Luck to all students receiving their Leaving Certificate Results this week. “Your exam results do not define you as a person and/or predict your future!”

NENAGH SHOW SUCCESS
Another very successful Agricultural Show was held in Nenagh on Bank Holiday Monday, August 7th. We had several local exhibitors who brought home prize – well done all. Among the prizewinners were, John O’Dwyer, Coolbawn who won 3rd place in the u12 cattle handler class. His sister Ellen O’Dwyer won 2nd place for her 6 biscuits on a plate and 3rd for her ‘Garden on a Plate’ exhibit. Also in the baking section, Eva Burke, Firgrove won 1st prize with her Novelty cake, while her sister Thyra Burke came 3rd with her artwork in the 14 to 17 years age group. Margaret O’Brien, Firgrove came 1st with her ‘Singular Beauty’ entry in the flower arranging section. Our local hand-craft ladies did particularly well with their entries with Una Caulfield, Rodeen winning the Best hand-knit garment class, Lisa McGeeney taking second prize and Louise Jackson, Luska taking the third prize in this class. Geraldine Caulfield, Ballinderry won 1st for Best set for a baby in knit or crochet, 1st for Best item of Cross Stitch and 3rd for the novelty item in knit or crochet. Bridie Brophy, Kilbarron took 2nd prize for her set for a baby in knit or crochet.

BAPTISM
We welcome Ted Flannery into our Christian Community. Ted is the son of John and Emma, Shanbally, Terryglass.

BALLINDERRY SPORTSFIELD LOTTO
The weekly Lotto goes to the continued upkeep and maintenance of the Pavilion and Sportsfield. We are asking that all parents, guardians and players over 18 years would contribute €2 per week to the Lotto, either to the officers of each club each week, or if you wish you may pay by ‘Top Up’ – yearly, 6 monthly or on a monthly basis.  Please contact Marcella at 087 6879502 to arrange this facility.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh, Ardcroney, Borrisokane, Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
