COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- Identity Theft. Bin dipping can occur especially in recycling bins and separated waste. Thieves rummage through bins pulling out bills and bank statements and other personal information, shred sensitive documents before throwing away. Delete your name and address. Do not share passwords or pin numbers.
If your purse or wallet is stolen, there is a lot more potentially valuable information in there than just your credit and debit cards. Anything with an address on it can help a thief to construct a false identity in your name. This can be used for anything from mobile phones to catalogue shopping.
