CONGRATULATIONS
Well done to Steven Burke and Jack Dunne, Kilbarron, who were members of the team representing Borrisokane Community College  that won the All Ireland final in the 5 a side Futsal competition held in Gormanstown. Co. Meath on Tuesday 6th December. It was a great achievement and congratulations to Steven and Jack.

BIRTHDAY WISHES
Birthday greetings are extended to Christy Gleeson, who will celebrate his 81st birthday on December 15th. We wish him continued good health and happiness.

BOOK LAUNCH
The book launch of the Shannon Rovers GAA Book Review 2011 will be this Sunday 18th December in Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass at 7pm. All are welcome.

KILBARRON NS CAKE SALE
Kilbarron NS Parent’s Council will hold a ‘Cake Sale’ in the small hall in Kilbarron before and after Mass this Sunday 18th December.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN TERRYGLASS
The Christmas lights were switched on in Terryglass village and the new village green last week. They look very decorative and it is well worth a visit to look at them. A thank you is extended to Declan Whelan, Joe Hogan and John Joe Molloy and the FAS team for their work on the project and a thank you to Gerardine Wisdom for her beautiful nativity scene on the Community Hall wall.

KILBARRON OLD SCHOOL WINTER PROGRAMME
The final class is ‘Festive Flower Arranging’ (Una Caulfield) takes place this Wednesday 14th December from 8-9.30pm. Pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited. A fee of €5 applies, to book please contact Margaret O’Brien 087 2772545

COME AND MEET SANTA
Come and meet Santa on Friday 16th December from 6.30-9pm in Kilbarron Hall. Games and Disco for Under 12’s and admission is €2 per child.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is- ‘Fire Prevention Hints’. Always place a spark guard in front of an open fire and keep the area around the fireplace free of combustible items. Don’t air clothes in front of the fire and clean your chimney regularly. Avoid overloading your electrical sockets, switch off and unplug electrical sockets when not in use.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Kilbarron and departs from Terryglass at 6.45pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167.
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
Rangers league game vs Holycross last Sunday was cancelled due to the Holycross pitch being unplayable.
Training continues every Wednesday night in the complex, Borrisokane at 8pm sharp. It is important that all players attend and as ever new players are more than welcome.
Important reminder, our Christmas night out is taking place this Saturday night 17th December in Elsie Hogan’s at 9pm. It is important that all players and committee members attend because we are having our ‘new jersey launch’ on the night. A great night’s entertainment is in store with a raffle on the night and music provided by the Freshmen. We would like to invite anyone else who is interested to come along on the night.

CHURCH NEWS
There will be a Penitential Service during each Mass this weekend in preparation for Christmas. There will be an opportunity for individual confession after each Mass.
