COFFEE MORNING FOR MILFORD HOSPICE
Bridie O’Meara and friends will hold a ‘Coffee Morning’ at her home in Ballinderry on Thursday 18th September from 10am-4pm. All proceeds will go to Milford Hospice, Limerick. Please come and join us for a cup of coffee or tea and sample the home baked cakes and tarts while supporting this worthwhile cause. If you are unable to attend a donation may be given to Bridie.
BALLINDERRY INITIATIVE
A meeting was held recently, of 30 people of Ballinderry village and surrounds , with a view to setting up a co-op to revive the locality, based on the success of the Loughmore Community Co-operative, aka The Cottage Shop and Tearooms, under the umbrella of the Plunkett Foundation
The two ladies who initiated this very successful project, Mary Fogarty and Maeve O’Hair will come to a meeting in Ballinderry on Thursday 18th September at 8pm in the Tearooms, to talk on doing something similar in Ballinderry and as many as possible are asked to please come and support the meeting. In the meantime it might be an enlightening experience to see the set-up in Loughmore, and if it can work elsewhere, why not in Ballinderry?
JUMBLE SALE
Now is the time to start collecting saleable items for the annual Halloween Jumble Sale. This year there is a new formula, the organisers are offering people the opportunity to make a donation to the charity the sale is run for and in return they may run a table or half table for their own cause. This year the sale will be held on one day only, which will be the Halloween Bank-holiday Saturday. So please put aside any suitable items in good condition e.g. bric-a-brac, books, clothes, toys, pictures, plants, clothes in good condition etc.

ROVERS GOLFING SOCIETY
Shannon Rovers Golf Society Captains Prize takes place this Saturday, 13th September, at Portumna Golf Club. Tee times 8.30am-9.30am. Presentation of prizes that night at Elsie Hogan’s from 9pm.

The Tip of the Week is- Don’t leave anything on display in your car even if in your driveway and if you have items in your car while shopping in town make sure you put them out of sight in the boot.
BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The next outing of the Lower Ormond Active Retirement is on Monday 29th September when the club will travel to Newbridge, departing from Borrisokane at approximately 10.15am. Names should be given as soon as possible to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237 or Loretta Tiernan 28066.
The club meets every Monday in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane, from 2-4pm for exercises for older people and ball competitions, then bingo and light refreshments. Transport is available from most of the surrounding areas.
