THE LATE ANN CAHALAN
The death occurred last week of Ann Cahalan, nee Gleeson, Drominagh, Ballinderry. Removal took place from Bushy Park Nursing Home on Tuesday evening to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Terryglass and after Funeral Mass on Wednesday interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. Annie from Kilbarron was a dearly loved wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband Michael had lived for some years in England but then returned to their native parish. Annie loved music and dancing and always looked ‘a million dollars’ when she went out. She was a kind, friendly lady who had suffered ill health in recent years, but her devoted family gave her loving care, she will be missed by all who knew her. Sympathy is extended to her husband Michael, sons Paul and David, grandchildren, brothers Michael and Paddy, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

THE LATE BERNARD DARCY
The death has occurred of Bernard Darcy, Ballinderry and sympathy is extended to his relatives.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
Birthday greetings are extended to Christy Gleeson, Gortmore, Terryglass, who will celebrate his 82nd. birthday on Saturday 15th December. We wish Christy a continued return to full health and a special thank you for performing his beautiful songs at the recent Lower Ormond party and for always remembering that special song that means so much to his audience.

STELLA FM COMMUNITY RADIO
Stella FM Community Radio is starting up and there will be a meeting in The Derg, Terryglass, this Thursday 13th December at 8pm, If anyone is interested in any way or would like to be involved in contributing to the station regarding our local events, activities, sports results and fixtures, businesses etc., you are asked to come along. The station will cover the Lower Ormond area and if you would like to avail of this community service or would like further information you can contact Sean Gleeson on 087 2681246.

2012 CHRISTMAS TREE OF REMEMBRANCE
Bridie Cahalan on behalf of North Tipperary Hospice would like to thank everyone who supported the fundraising Christmas Tree of Remembrance, A thank you to The Derg, Paddy’s, Elsie’s and Hannigan’s for allowing posters and envelopes in their premises.

TERRYGLASS CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
The Christmas lights were switched on in the village last Friday night and are looking very seasonal also the nativity scene on the community hall wall is once again on display. A thank you is extended to all involved in this yearly project.

KILBARRON OLD CEMETERY
Subscriptions for upkeep and maintenance are now due and may be paid to Michael Molamphy (Jnr.) or Christy Cormican.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is again on Fire Prevention- make sure your Christmas tree lights have a safe socket connection, Check and follow instructions carefully for proper use of portable heaters, keep away from furniture and curtains.  Be watchful at all times of lit candles and keep out of the reach of children.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Terryglass at 6.50pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The annual Christmas Party will take place on Monday 17th December at 1pm in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane.  The afternoon will commence with a hot drink on arrival followed by a hot meal of either, turkey and ham or salmon with a choice of desserts and the subsidized cost is €10. We are hoping that Santa will be able to pay us a short visit with a gift for all and then it will be time to start an afternoon of music, song and dance with Margaret and Rita and Seanie. Names can be given to any of the following, Jimmy Donnelly, Loretta Tiernan, Phyllis O’Meara, Sam Wilson.
