KILBARRON HALL FUNDRAISER
There will be a Cake Sale and Raffle in aid of funds for Kilbarron Hall in the Old School Hall, Kilbarron on Saturday 14th Dec. after 7.30pm Mass and on Sunday 15th Dec. after the 11am Mass. All donation s will be much appreciated. The hall insurance is now due for renewal and funds are needed for this and the general upkeep of this extremely important parish facility. So please come along to the sale or make a donation.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
Birthday greetings are extended to Christy Gleeson, Gortmore, who will celebrate his 83rd birthday on 15th Dec. We wish him continued good health and a special thank you for performing his beautiful songs at the Lower Ormond ARA parties and for remembering the special songs that mean so much to his audience.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
Shannon Rangers will be holding its annual fixture of the first team against the veterans on St. Stephan’s Day at the Sportsfield in Ballinderry. Kick off on the day is at 2pm. The match will be followed by a 70’s disco and fancy dress in Elsie’s with raffle and spot prizes on the night.

PAST TO PRESENT-SHANNON ROVERS BOOK
Further copies of the pictorial history of the Shannon Rovers complied by Frank Moran are now available and would make very interesting Christmas presents. The cost is €15 and all monies raised go to the Shannon Rovers Juvenile Club.

DEATH
The death occurred recently in London of Hugh Loughnane, formerly of Newlawn, he had returned regularly to his native parish and sympathy is extended to his many friends..

CHRISTMAS DAY DIVE
There will be a Christmas Day Dive at Cleary’s Quay, Coolbawn, at 12.30pm on Dec. 25th in aid of 100Minds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. If you would like to participate in the dive or donate to the charity, please contact Michaela Slattery 086 2673736.

KILBARRON OLD CEMETERY
Subscriptions for the upkeep and maintenance of Kilbarron Old Cemetery are now due and can be paid to Michael Molamphy (Jnr) or Christy Cormican.

WELCOME
We welcome into our parish Faye Kennedy, who was recently baptised.

CHRISTMAS POP UP SHOP
Our festive pop up shop will be open every weekend up to Christmas. We have an array of Food products, Crafts, Arts, Toys and gifts on offer. A free gift wrapping service will be provided with donations welcome for the Autism Centre in Borrisokane Community College. A range of tasty seasonal treats and old fashioned leaf tea will be available in the tearooms.

COMMUNITY ALERT
Firstly, can we all keep an eye on our elderly neighbours now that the weather is getting colder and enquire if there is anything they need.
The Tip of the Week is again on Fire Prevention- make sure your Christmas tree lights have a safe socket connection. Check and follow instructions carefully for proper use of portable heaters, keep away from furniture and curtains. Be watchful at all times of lit candles and keep out of the reach of children.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The end of year afternoon of exercise, bingo, refreshments and chat will take place on Monday 16th Dec. at 2pm.
