IRISH CANCER SOCIETY THANKS
Many thanks for your very generous support of our recent Church gate collection in Kilbarron and Terryglass. Total of €865 was collected.

SYMPATHY
We extend our sympathy to the family and friends of Margaret Kelly, Rodeen who died on April 29th in Portumna Retirement village. We extend our sympathy to Clare Corrigan, Kilbarron, her mother Nonie and family in Dublin on the recent death of her father Jim in Dublin. Following funeral Mass in Dublin, burial took place in Kilbarron cemetery.

THE KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next talk hosted by the Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society will be held on Friday 13th May at 8.30pm in the pavillion Ballinderry and will be given by Danny Grace (Ormond Historical Society). The talk is titled The Finnoe Murders 1843 and tells the story of the murder of Thomas Waller and his sister in law Harriet Vereker on 12th November 1843 at Finnoe House near Borrisokane. Admission €5.

NORTH TIPPERARY ALZHEIMERS SOCIETY
North Tipp. Alzheimer Society are holding a Garden Party on Saturday 21st. May from 2 – 5pm. in Castletown Glebe Garden, Portroe by kind invitation of John & Fedelma Tierney. Please come along and enjoy a beautiful garden, have tea and enjoy delicious homemade baking. All funds raised will be used in North Tipp. to support our work in endeavouring to keep people with Dementia/Alzheimer’s in their own home for as long as possible with the help of our professional carers. LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Our next outing is to The Thatched Cottage for a three course meal at 1pm on Monday 16th May, followed by an afternoon of music, song and dance with Seanie. The menu choice is Roast Beef or Salmon, dessert either trifle or bread and butter pudding. The subsidized cost is €10, names please to Jimmy Donnelly

KILBARRON N.S. USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
The Parent’s Association of Kilbarron N.S. is organizing a clothing collection as part of this year’s fundraising events. They are looking for your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to the school any Friday or if you need collection please contact Siobhan at 087 6986054.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
