THE LATE JOHN HEENEN
The death occurred on Wednesday 9th November of John Heenan, Crossanagh, Terryglass. His removal took place to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Terryglass and after Requiem Mass on Thursday interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. John was 85 years old and had resided in Galway for many years, he was a popular gentleman and was a member of the Shannon Rovers Hurling team in the 1950’s. Sympathy is extended to his nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Vina Horan, Ryehill, Ballinderry, on the recent death of her sister, Mary Morgan, Nenagh.

CHARITY AUCTION
The Charity Auction of timber and turf will take place in Kilbarron Car-park this Sunday 20th November at 3pm in aid of the Fr. John Molloy project ‘Build For Hope’. There will be a ‘cup of tea’ available in the Old School Hall, Kilbarron and a variety of items will be on sale there. Your support would be much appreciated. The fundraising concert will be held on Friday 2nd December in Terryglass Community Hall.

OVER 60’S CLUB
The Terryglass/Kilbarron Over 60’s Club is holding a party in Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass, this Sunday 20th November at 1.30pm. There is a choice of beef, chicken or salmon for the main course and either trifle or sponge pudding for your sweet. The afternoon will follow with music, song and dance with Seanie and the subsidized cost is €10. The organisers welcome everyone and would especially like to see more of our parishioners coming along for what will be a great afternoon, so give your name as soon as possible to Mary Prout, Monie Hogan or Loretta Tiernan.

PRIDE OF PLACE
Congratulations to Terryglass on coming runners up in the All Ireland Pride of Place Competition. They received a cheque for €500 and a plaque.
Thank you to all those who took part and helped on the day of the presentation.

JUMBLE SALE
The annual charity Jumble Sale in Terryglass was once again a resounding success and a substantial sum of money was raised and will be divided between the charity of St. Vincent de Paul and the Fr. John Molloy ‘Build For Hope’ project.
Thank you to one and all for the overwhelming generosity, it is because of the great support that the two above mentioned charities will benefit.

KILBARRON OLD SCHOOL WINTER PROGRAMME
A programme of classes and presentations are taking place in the Old School Hall, Kilbarron each Tuesday from 8-9.30pm. Pre-booking for all events is essential as spaces are limited. A flat fee of €5 applies for all classes.
The Tuesday programme is as follows: Nov. 22nd – Manual Handling (Seamus O’Sullivan), Nov. 29th –Christmas Cooking (Jacque Sullivan) and Dec.13th -Festive Flower Arranging (Una Caulfield).

CONGRATULATIONS
Well done to the MacDonaghs who won the County Senior Football Championship last Sunday by defeating Moyle Rovers. Congratulations to George Hannigan, Alan Hannigan, Padraic O’Meara, Stephen Nevin, Barry Cahalan and Paddy Heenan who were members of the team and to Joe Hannigan who is a selector. The victory was celebrated that night in Hannigans, Kilbarron.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is on interior lighting, it is important that where a house is vacant that an impression is generated to would-be intruders that it is in fact occupied. This can be achieved by using plug in timers connected to table lamps or other lights, radios or music centres, to create the normal sounds in the house.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €30 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively and some full houses have been increased to €50-€150. There is a flyer for €200 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Kilbarron and departs from Terryglass at 6.45pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
Rangers recorded a brilliant 6-1 win over Clodagh in Ballinderry last Sunday in the league with goals coming from Austin Tierney(2), Padraic O’Meara (2), Keith Kelly (1) and an own goal from Clodagh. This was a badly needed win and it will give us a great boast.
Thanks to all the players who showed up on the day and thanks to Ronan Fox our stand in keeper who got injured, we wish him a speedy recovery.
Training every Wednesday night in the complex, Borrisokane at 8pm sharp. It is important that all players attend and new players welcome.
