KILBARRON HALL FUNDRAISER
There will be a Cake Sale this Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, in the Old School Hall in Kilbarron at 11.45am (after the 11am Mass) in aid of renovations needed to Kilbarron Hall. This parish amenity is a very important part of our community and needs constant funding for the upkeep of the facility. Please support this effort, donations of home baking and produce would be most welcome and can be left into the hall before Mass. There will also be a Raffle on the day.

DEATH
The death occurred last week of Stephen Hogan, Dublin and formerly of Gortmore, Terryglass. Removal took place on Friday evening from St. Joseph’s Funeral Home, Borrisokane, to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Terryglass and after Funeral Mass on Saturday interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Tony Gorman, Bellevue, on the recent death of his sister Brid O’Donovan, Dublin and to Michael O’Donoghue, Greenlane, on the death, in England, of his brother Eamon O’Donoghue , formerly Bushy Park.

KILBARRON A G M
The annual general meeting of Kilbarron Development Association (Tidy Towns) will be held this Thursday 14th March at 8.30pm in the Old School Hall, Kilbarron. Your support would be appreciated and all are welcome.

ST. PATRICK’S WEEKEND IN TERRYGLASS
There is a full schedule of events taking place in Terryglass to mark this year’s St. Patrick’s weekend from Friday 15th March-Monday 18th March. Kicking off the festival we welcome the popular pop/rock band ‘Hotfuss’ at 10pm. Free outdoor gig in the village green.
Saturday is packed with events to keep everyone busy, such as Irish dancing workshop, arts and crafts for children and adults. Make your own Herb Box workshop, Vintage Tea party, Terryglass through the years- photographic display, Ceili Mor, GAA skills and much more and keep an eye out for the Lough Derg Serpent.
Sunday begins with our traditional St. Patrick’s Day Mass at 9.30am, a charity fundraiser, Village Market, from 1-5pm, the shortest, noisiest, Parade at 3pm, Treasure Hunt at 3.30pm and we welcome the re-launch of the group ‘Beginish’ to the hall at 8.30pm. This group of talented and well known musicians is reforming for a nationwide tour and commence this in Terryglass. Tickets on sale in the Derg Inn and Paddy’s Bar at €5 each.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- Do not leave car keys/handbags/wallets or other valuables on kitchen or hall tables where they can be seen, particularly through back doors and windows. Look out for suspicious vehicles in your area, vans parked in gateways or unfamiliar vehicles parked or passing in your road or near your house, particularly on the quieter routes. Don’t hesitate to make a note of the registration number and notify the Gardai.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Our Easter Party will take place on Monday 25th March in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane at 1pm. Commencing with a hot meal, the menu choice is either beef or cod with a selection of desserts, then an afternoon of music, song and dance with Margaret and Rita and Seanie. The subsidized cost is €10 and names and meal choices should be given to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237 or Loretta Tiernan. Chiropodist Emma Stanley will also be in the hall that afternoon for anyone wishing to have foot care.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Terryglass at 6.50pm. For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.
