TIDY TOWNS SUCCESS
The recent results of the national Tidy Towns awards saw fantastic results for both of our beautiful villages. Well done to Terryglass Improvements Association and Kilbarron Tidy Towns committee on your continued hard work each year. It is a real credit to all involved that both villages are ranked in the top three results for North Tipperary.

LADIES GROUP
Ladies, are you looking for something different to do? We need you, we need your ideas, your energy, your conversation and your sense of fun. We are hoping to start a new sociable group. If interested, please come along, catch up with old and make new friends. Looking forward to seeing you in Aglish Hall on Wednesday 19th October at 8pm.

SYMPATHY
We extend our deepest sympathy to Tina Dunne, Kilbarron, on the recent death of her brother, Gerry McNamanr, Nenagh. May he rest in peace.

KILBARRON TERRYGHLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next talk hosted by the Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society will be held on Friday October 14th at 8pm in the Pavillion Ballinderry. It will be given by John Fletcher on ‘The Minnitts of Anabeg’. This true story was turned into a very successful film and tells the story of Joshua Minnitt an English Justice of the Peace during the Irish Famine who worked tirelessly with his family to fight the famine and save a community. Entry: Non-members €5, Members €2 Society Membership fees are also due for 2016-2017; Family €30, adult €20, student €15

KILBARRON WALKERS
Now that the longer evenings are here why not come out and get a bit of exercise. The walkers will meet at 8pm in the village carpark. We intend walking 5 evenings per week, so come along any evening that suits you. Walkers of all ages and fitness levels welcome, just bring your hi-viz and a flashlamp. In addition to the walking, the local Tidy Towns committee have arranged a weekly weigh-in in Hannigans every Wednesday night after 9pm. This is an ideal opportunity to monitor your weight and blood pressure and see the benefits of the extra exercise – why not come along and join in. With only ten weeks to Christmas, you will be delighted with the new you!
WEEKLY WEIGH-IN Kilbarron Tidy Towns committee have organised a weekly weigh-in every Wednesday night after 9pm in Hannigans. Weight and blood pressure measured to monitor your progress.

NORTH TIPP DISABILITY SUPPORT SERVICE
We are a charitable organisation based in Nenagh and provide a Personal Support Service to people with disabilities in North Tipperary. Currently we are trying to recruit people to work in the Terryglass / Ballinderry area. For further details please contact Ann Ryan at 067 34202.

CHURCH NEWS
Mission Sunday – October 23rd. The people in Killaloe Diocese have been urged to support Missionaries working in some of the world’ poorest countries by donating during the forthcoming Mission Sunday collection on October 23rd. As we thank you for your wonderful generosity to the Missions over the years, we invite you to please continue to help our young churches to share the gift of faith through your prayer and whatever financial assistance you can.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues in Kilbarron Church every Wednesday from 10am to 3pm and 7pm to 8pm. We invite all parishioners to drop in for a short while during that time to sit in the presence of Jesus.

SMALL COINS
Knigh United Girls Soccer club are collecting 1c and 2c coins . If you have any small coins lying around that you would be willing to donate, please contact Marcella at 087 6879502.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to Kilbarron school any Friday from now on. If you need to have your bags collected please contact Siobhan at 087 6986054.

BINGO
There is Bingoo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,500. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
