KILBARRON DRAMA GROUP
Kilbarron Drama Group invites you to Kelly’s house on Christmas Eve, where married couple Irene and Arthur are getting ready for some important guests. Declan used to live in the area and was a nobody, but after moving to New Zealand he became a rich supermarket mogul and married the lovely Amanda. If only old Matty was not around to listen at doors and why did Gladys have to return home tonight of all nights? What else could go wrong???
Many Happy Returns, a comedy by Bernard Farrell and directed by Marian Frawley goes on stage in Kilbarron Hall on March 16th, 17th and 18th at 8.30pm. Opening night Friday 16th will be a fund raising event for Kilbarron National School. Your support would be greatly appreciated and a great night’s entertainment is guaranteed.

ST PATRICKS DAY FESTIVITIES IN TERRYGLASS
There will be lots of activities in Terryglass from early morning on St. Patricks Day. Starting at 10.30am there will be a 10k Village Walk via Ballinderry, followed by complimentary soup on your return. There will be a ‘Village Market’ in Terryglass Hall and at 12noon a Village Treasure Hunt. Come and partake in the mini workshops and face painting. Help to draw the longest snake in Ireland.  At 2pm join the fun in the shortest, noisiest and craziest parade and enjoy the traditional set dancing displayed by local dancers. All are very welcome

MOTHER’S DAY
A “Happy Mother’s Day” is wished to all the mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers in our parish. Have a wonderful day on Sunday 18th March.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Sadie Tierney, Terryglass, on the recent death of her mother Bridget Young, Toomevara.

PILATES CLASSES
Pilates classes continue on Wednesday nights in the Pavilion, Ballinderry. Payment nightly. Beginners welcome.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to the pupils on Kilbarron NS, Mia Foley, Roisin Fox, Cathal O’Meara and Kyle Kennedy who formed the under 13 winning team in the recent Borrisokane Credit Union Quiz.

BORRISOKANE A.C.
Borrisokane A C will hold a 10k Road Walk on Monday 19th March. This event is a fundraiser to help finish the athletics track development and support would be appreciated.

GOOD WISHES
Good wishes are extended to Mairead Tierney who opens Una’s Tea Room at Riverrun and Anita and Bob Foyle who are opening a craft shop in Riverrun, Terryglass over the St. Patricks weekend.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- Do not leave car keys/handbags/wallets or other valuables on kitchen or hall tables where they can be seen, particularly through back doors and windows.
Look out for suspicious vehicles in your area, vans parked in gateways or unfamiliar vehicles parked or passing in your road or near your house, particularly on the quieter routes. Don’t hesitate to make a note of the registration number and notify the Gardai.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Kilbarron and departs from Terryglass at 6.45pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

CHURCH NEWS
The St. Patrick’s Day Masses are as follows : Vigil Mass in Kilbarron on Friday 16th at 7.30pm and in Terryglass on Saturday 17th at 11am..

SHANNON RANGERS FC
Rangers were away to Streamstown last Sunday in the league, but lost 4-1. Streamstown went 2 up before half time after a poor start. In the second half the home team grabbed 2 more goals before John Flannery pulled one back for Rangers.
Thank you to the 15 players who showed up on the day. Training is in the complex in Borrisokane each Wednesday at 8pm sharp, it is important all players attend so we can finish the last three games strongly.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Our annual general meeting will be held on Monday 26th March.
The club meets each Monday at 2pm in the Church of Ireland Hall, and on Thursday for some healthy exercise e.g. walking, boules, pitch and putt.
