VISIT BY CANADIAN AMBASSADOR
On Wednesday, April 6th the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Kevin Vickers visited the area for the launch of Project Kilbarron Terryglass 1815 Ottawa 2015 at Coolbawn Quay Marina. The purpose of the project is to create links with descendants of those from the parish of Terryglass Kilbarron who emigrated in the early 1800s to Ottawa and places further afield in Ontario.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Our next outing is on Monday 18th April to the Arboretum lifestyle and garden centre in Co.Carlow.
The bus will depart from Borrisokane at 10,30am with a pick-up in Shinrone at 10.45am. This is your opportunity to stock up on your garden requirements for the forthcoming season. Names please to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237or Loretta Tiernan 086 378 2623.

KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next meeting of the Society will take place on Friday April 8th at 8pm in the pavillion, Ballinderry. This meeting will be dedicated to the development and advancement of the Field Names Project which aims to record all the field names in the parish and the history, folklore, archaeology and families associated with them. A pilot area of Grawn townland has been started and it is hoped to expand this template to the neighbouring areas. Meeting is open to all those interested in assisting or contributing to this project.

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY
Maintenance fees for 2016 are now due. It is asked that same be forwarded to John Mulvihill as Treasurer, at the earliest opportunity. Please contact John at e-mail terryglasscemetery@gmail.com or phone 087 2185833 with any questions.

CHURCH NEWS
GETTING MARRIED in 2016 / 2017 ? If you are planning to get married soon we would like to remind you of the necessity of :
1. Giving at least 3 months notice to your local Priest.
2. Giving at least 3 months notice to the State Registrar, Tyone Health Centre, Nenagh.
3. Doing an Accord Pre-Marriage Course or one in Esker Retreat House, Athenry well in advance (at least 6 months) of the date of marriage. Dates of Pre-Marriage Courses are posted in our Churches.
4. Filling in the pre-marriage papers (pre-Nuptial Enquiry Form) with your local priest.
Note: We have bookings for quite a number of weddings from outside the parish each year, therefore it is advisable to book the Church as early as possible.

KILBARRON N.S. USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
The Parent’s Association of Kilbarron N.S. is organizing a clothing collection as part of this year’s fundraising events. They are looking for your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to the school any Friday or if you need collection please contact Siobhan at 087 6986054..

SMALL COINS
Knigh United Girls Soccer club are collecting 1c and 2c coins . If you have any small coins lying around that you would be willing to donate, please contact Marcella at 087 6879502.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
