On Wednesday, April 6th the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Kevin Vickers visited the area for the launch of Project Kilbarron Terryglass 1815 Ottawa 2015 at Coolbawn Quay Marina. The purpose of the project is to create links with descendants of those from the parish of Terryglass Kilbarron who emigrated in the early 1800s to Ottawa and places further afield in Ontario.

Our next outing is on Monday 18th April to the Arboretum lifestyle and garden centre in Co.Carlow.
The bus will depart from Borrisokane at 10,30am with a pick-up in Shinrone at 10.45am. This is your opportunity to stock up on your garden requirements for the forthcoming season. Names please to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237or Loretta Tiernan 086 378 2623.

The next meeting of the Society will take place on Friday April 8th at 8pm in the pavillion, Ballinderry. This meeting will be dedicated to the development and advancement of the Field Names Project which aims to record all the field names in the parish and the history, folklore, archaeology and families associated with them. A pilot area of Grawn townland has been started and it is hoped to expand this template to the neighbouring areas. Meeting is open to all those interested in assisting or contributing to this project.
