WEDDING CONGRATULATIONS
The marriage took place in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford on May 2nd of Padraig Cahalan, Brocka and Bridget Coffey, Dungarvan. Our best wishes are extended to the happy couple for a long and happy life together.

KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next lecture by the Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society will be held on Saturday May 23rd at 8pm in Terryglass Hall. It will be on ‘The Book of Leinster’ and will be given by Dr. Mary Leenane of The Centre for Irish Cultural Heritage located in Maynooth University. The Book of Leinster is a medieval Irish manuscript that was written in the Twelfth-Century at Terryglass monastery and is one of the oldest surviving early Irish manuscripts that traces its history before the Norman conquest. The Book of Leinster is fundamentally the most important manuscript in early Irish literature and this is a wonderful opportunity to hear about it in the village that it was written. Free entry with donations welcomed.
Summer Outing – The Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society are still taking bookings for our summer outing to Glasnevin Cemetery and The National War Memorial Gardens at Islandbridge in Dublin. It will take place on Sun June 28th. Full payment of €25 is required to book a place and can be paid to any member of the Historical Society committee or at the next Historical Society Lecture scheduled for Saturday May 23rd to be held in Terryglass.

BORRISOKANE AND DISTRICT VINTAGE CLUB
We are holding our annual Vintage Run on Next Sunday 17th May, Departing Borrisokane Fair Green @ 10.30 am and Travelling to Ardcroney, Lahorna, Dromineer, Puckane, Kilbarron, Coolbawn, Ballinderry, Terryglass and returning to Borrisokane. Sponsorship cards are now in circulation and all monies raised on the day will go to North Tipp Hospice. Entry fee is €10 for vintage cars and all Tractors. Please come out and Support this worthy Cause. Draw and refreshments in Molly Ban’s Borrisokane Afterwards.

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY
Maintenance fees for 2015 are now due. It is asked that same be forwarded to the Treasurer, John Mulvihill at the earliest opportunity.

EARTHQUAKE FUNDRAISER
The Nenagh/Nepal Earthquake Fund will hold a coffee morning in Ballycommon Hall on Wednesday the 13th of May from 9am to 6pm to raise funds for the victims of that country’s earthquake. However, for those who cannot attend and would like to make a donation, the group has set up a special bank account in Permanent / TSB on Pearse Street; sort code 990734 a/c number 24254083. Nenagh woman Fionnuala Daffy, daughter of Sinead and the late John Daffy, runs a Buddhist school in Kathmandu, where it is vital that electricity supplies are reconnected so they can have access to water supplies. RELAY FOR LIFE
Relay for Life is a 24 hour event that brings the whole community together to Celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, to Remember those whom we have lost to the disease and to Fight Back by increasing our knowledge of cancer and by raising money to fund vital research and services of the Irish Cancer Society. At Relay, teams of family members and friends commit to having at least one member of their team walking around the track at all times. While they are doing that, a festival of fun, entertainment and community takes place which unites everybody in the fight against cancer. Would you like to be a member of the Kilbarron Red Devils team at this year’s Relay in Toomevara on Sat 15th and Sun 16th August? USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Kilbarron National School Parents Association are planning their next clothes collection, so please start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to Kilbarron school any Friday from now on. Collection date June 11th. If you need to have your bags collected please contact Carmel 087 6359492 or any member of the parents association.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
