SPORTING SUCCESS
Congratulations to Cillian Dunne, Kilbarron who competed in the National Wheelchair Racing Championships in Morton Stadium, Dublin last weekend. Cillian returned home with an impressive haul of medals coming 1st in the 100m and 400m, 2nd in the 200m and 3rd in the 800m and 1500m races. Well done Cillian and continued success in your athletics career.

SYMPATHY
We extend our deepest sympathy to Maureen O’Donoghue and family, Ballyscanlon on the death of her uncle, James Duffy, Ballyscanlon and formerly Clonark, Athlone, who died recently. May he rest in peace.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Our next outing is on Monday 19th June to the Thatched Cottage for a 3 course meal at 1pm followed by an afternoon of music, song and dance with Seanie. RECENT WEDDING
Congratulations to Nora Coen and Pat Holland who were married recently. The happy couple celebrated with family and friends following the ceremony at the Adare Woodlands Hotel. We wish you both a long and happy future together.

KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Dr. Michael Potterton of the History Dept. of NUI Maynooth will be giving a talk on Wednesday June 14th at 7pm in Terryglass Hall. It will be on ‘Irish Anglo-Norman Castles’ with particular reference to Oldcourt Castle. This talk is open to one and all with free admission.

KILBARRON TIDY TOWNS
The work evenings continue every Wednesday evening at 7.30. Everyone welcome and all help is appreciated. A lot of work has been carried out in and around the village in the past few years and as a result we have seen great results in the Tidy Towns competitions. A little work each week will maintain the current the appearance of the village and help with the future improvement plans.

BALLINDERRY SPORTSFIELD LOTTO
The weekly Lotto goes to the continued upkeep and maintenance of the Pavilion and Sportsfield. We are asking that all parents, guardians and players over 18 years would contribute €2 per week to the Lotto, either to the officers of each club each week, or if you wish you may pay by ‘Top Up’ – yearly, 6 monthly or on a monthly basis.  Please contact Marcella at 087 6879502 to arrange this facility.

CHURCH NEWS
ANNUAL PARISH NOVENA TO THE SACRED HEART Commences on Thursday 15th June – the programme is as follows:
Terryglass Church: Thursday 15th and Friday 16th June 8 – 8.45pm.
Kilbarron Church: Saturday 17th June – Novena Prayers at the end of Mass.
Terryglass Church: Sunday 18th and Monday 19th June 8 -8.45pm
Kilbarron Church: Tuesday 20th June 8 – 8.45pm. Wednesday 21st June (Before Mass) 7 – 7.45pm. Thursday 22nd June 8 – 8.45pm
Friday 23rd June – Feast of the Sacred Heart. Mass in Kilbarron at 8pm Novena prayers at the end of Mass.
The Novena will consist of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and during that time we will have the Rosary and the Novena prayers. We hope as many as possible will come for the full Novena, but if this is not convenient for you, please feel welcome to drop in any time and join in, even for five or ten minutes. All are welcome.
CONFIRMATION/FIRST HOLY COMMUNION.
The final Ritual takes place next Sunday, June 18th the Feast of Corpus Christi, at 10am Mass in Terryglass. There will be a Procession at the end of Mass with the Blessed Sacrament to the High Cross concluding with Benediction.
CEMETERY MASSES : Kilbarron – Saturday June 17th at 8pm. Terryglass – Sunday June 25th at 10am. Please contact families outside the parish who have relatives buried here.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh, Ardcroney, Borrisokane, Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 .
