SYMPATHY
The death occurred on Thursday 14th September of Wilsie Nolan, Terryglass, in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his wife Julia, sons Billy and John. We extend our deepest sympathy to his son Martin, daughters Margaret, Mary, Brid and Ann, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Funeral mass for Wilsie was celebrated in Terryglass Church on Sunday September 17th with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

SHANNONSIDE IMPROVEMENTS ASSOCIATION
We currently have vacancies in the following areas: Kilbarron, Aglish and Ballinderry. If you are over 21 years and in receipt of a Social Welfare payment for 12 months, or ages over 62 yeara and meet certain criteria by DSP you could take part on a scheme up to retirement age. KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next lecture will be held in conjunction with the Lorrha & Dorrha Historical Society and will be on Friday September 29th at 8pm in Lorrha Hall. It will be delivered by Alf Monaghan and entitled ‘Monastic Ireland – A Gift of the Nile!’ The talk will trace links with ancient Egypt to Irish monasticism and links between the early Irish Church and the Egyptian Coptic Church. Recent Irish discoveries such as the Faddan More Psalter – Egyptian papyrus found in an ancient book of psalms from a Tipperary bog -will also be discussed. Admission €5.

TRAINING COURSES
Are you aged between 16-21? Have you found yourself outside the formal education system but would like to obtain some qualifications while receiving an allowance? At Nenagh Community Training Centre (Nenagh CTC) St. John’s Place, we provide innovative programmes  that include woodwork, horticulture, catering, hairdressing, childcare and I.T., leading to QQI Level 3 and 4 qualifications. CHILDCARE TRAINING COURSE
Tipperary Education and Training Board is now enrolling for Evening Training Programmes in Nenagh in Child Development Level 6 and Supervision in Early Childhood Care Level 6.

CHURCH NEWS
JUSTICE, PEACE AND INTEGRITY OF CREATION
We invite you to join with Nenagh Parish in celebrating ‘Season of Creation’ on September 30th at 2.30pm in the Nenagh Pastoral Centre. We hope to plant what we can reap in the future and have a short discussion on the way the environment links our spirituality. Contact Fr. Ger fitzger@gmail.com
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION
Enrolment ceremony for First Eucharist and Confirmation children takes place on Sunday next, Oct 1st in Terryglass church at 10am. Please keep these children and their families in your prayers during this special year in their lives.
WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES
The Official Killaloe Diocesan Launch of the Preparation for the World Meeting of Families will be led by Bishop Fintan in the Cathedral in Ennis  on Sun Oct 1st . Each parish will mark the launch at one of their weekend masses. We will have our celebration at the 10am Mass in Terryglass on Sunday.  All are invited to join in this celebration.

BALLINDERRY SPORTSFIELD LOTTO
The weekly Lotto goes to the continued upkeep and maintenance of the Pavilion and Sportsfield. We are asking that all parents, guardians and players over 18 years would contribute €2 per week to the Lotto, either to the officers of each club each week, or if you wish you may pay by ‘Top Up’ – yearly, 6 monthly or on a monthly basis.  Please contact Marcella at 087 6879502 to arrange this facility.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh, Ardcroney, Borrisokane, Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
