WORLD WAR 1 PROJECT
As you are aware the Kilbarron/Terryglass Historical Society is doing a project to commemorate all those from the parish who took part in or anyone linked to WW1 in some way. A very successful gathering took place recently and a lot of relevant information shared, however there is probably a lot more out there. For a project that started out to relate to 7 or 8 people, it has now risen to 34. Those are people who were born or came to live in the parish, but there may be more. This is not confined to soldiers, anyone such as nurses, doctors or people who did things on the home front- we would like to hear about them from their relations. Please contact Helen Fox 087 2074377.

SHANNON ROVERS BOOK-PAST TO PRESENT
The recently published pictorial book on the Shannon Rovers by Frank Moran has been sold out, however he has been approached by several people looking for copies and in the circumstances has decided to order a further reprint. With this in mind Frank would be grateful if there are other people wanting a copy of the book, or wanting it as a suitable Christmas present to please contact him as soon as possible on 087 2463811.

SHANNON RANGERS FC

COMMUNITY ALERT
The Tip of the Week is on interior lighting. It is important that where a house is vacant that an impression is generated to would-be intruders that it is in fact occupied, This can be achieved by using plug in timers connected to table lamps and other lights, a radio or music centre to create the normal sounds in the house.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once clean). Bags can be left into Kilbarron School any Friday from now until the collection date of November 18th
