SHANNON RANGERS FC
Last weekend saw the U/13’s play their second last game of the season in Ballinderry v’s Arra, but were on the end of a 3-1 defeat, hard luck fellas. Last Sunday the junior team made the short trip to Nenagh Celtic to play its final game of the season in the league and came away with a well deserved 4-2 win. Nenagh scored two goals in the first half and Shannon Rangers got one from Darren Carroll’s boot. In the second half Rangers upped its game and after a few positional changes went on to score 3 more goals from Brian Hourigan, Keith Kelly and Jack Sullivan, well done all. As the season is now over the Club has had the best season by far by finishing second in the 3rd. division league and gaining automatic promotion. A big thank you to our two Managers Ronan and Damien for their hard work all season, they were present at all games and gave great encouragement to the squad and thanks also to the players for making the promotion dream possible as well.
Now that the season is over the Club will hopefully be holding its end of season award and medal presentation night on Saturday 27th April at Elsie’s, details to follow. Well done to out three teams

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- It is that time of year again when door to door sales people call offering goods and services, such as painting, gutter cleaning, roofing etc. If a person calls offering professional trade services observe the following (1) Tell the caller you never employ people who cold call. (2) Ask for a sales brochure or other documents you can check. (3) Be careful with sales brochures, check phone numbers and addresses. (4) If you are satisfied that the service offered is credible ask for a written itemised quotation for the services. (5) Ask for the names of people where they have previously worked. (6) Always seek comparative estimates for the service from established companies. (7) Always use a method of payment that is traceable. (8) Never leave strangers in your home, even bona fide workers, unsupervised. (9) If you think you have become a victim of this sort of crime report it to the Garda.

Cois Deirige Cluster Masses- Due to declining numbers and the increasing age profile of the clergy in the Diocese and in the Clusters, along with decreasing attendance numbers, we are looking at the number and times of Masses in our Cluster area with a view to re-organising them. It is likely that this will result in fewer Masses and/ or a change in Mass times. Please let your views on this issue be known to your pastoral council members.
