WEDDING
Congratulations to Olivia Coen, Ballinderry and Aidan O’Brien, Cloughjpordan who were married in Kilbarron church recently, and to Edward Brophy, Kilbarron and Deirdre O’Callaghan who were married in Moyvane, Co. Kerry recently. We wish the happy couples a long and happy life together.

TERRYGLASS ARTS FESTIVAL
This years Arts Festival runs from Wednesday August 17 th to Sunday 21 st . There is a very exciting programme of events, ranging from workshops to visual arts to live music in the village and of course the fireworks display on the Saturday evening. Among the highlights this year are , ‘Charolais’ a dark comedy in Terryglass Village Hall on Thursday 18 th , the Gala concert on Friday 19 th in Terryglass church featuring Rebecca Storm and the family fun day on Sunday 21th. There really is something for everyone. Tickets for all events are now available and early booking is advised. KILBARRON AND TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Historical Society is proposing to do a walk and talk of Carney Commons on Sunday August 28th from 4pm. This will take in the history, heritage, flora, fauna and times growing up in the area etc. Please note that this walk is very weather dependent as dry weather is essential therefore it may be necessary to cancel the walk at short notice. More details to follow closer to the date. A preliminary date of September 16th has been set for the AGM.

NEW PASTORAL COUNCIL MEMBERS – Margaret Dunne, Carney, Helen Fox, Ballinderry, Henrietta Glynn, Killeen, Maria Hogan, Turravagaun, Mary Hogan, Lacken, Mary Tierney, Ballyscanlon, Colm Hardy, Newlawn, Willie Lennox, Coolbawn, James Mulvihill, Ballinderry, Seamus O’Sullivan, Shanakill, Declan Tiernan, Carney, Martin Tierney, Ashgrove. Congratulations to our new Pastoral Council. We would like to thank them for accepting this role of leadership in our parish and wish them every success over the next few years. Thanks also to all those who took the time and effort to vote.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT INFORMATION EVENING
In Milford Care Centre on Tuesday 23rd August from 7-8.30pm. The evening will comprise of: Short talk by members of the Bereavement Service, Different experiences of Grief, Services available and Question Time. The information evening is Free.

PORTUMNA’S SHORELINES ARTS FESTIVAL
This year’s festival takes place from 15th-18th September. Tickets for Headline Events now on sale online at www.shorelinesartsfestival.com Advance booking is advised to avoid disappointment as venues have a strict capacity limit. Tickets for other events will become available for purchase once the full 2016 programme is announced.

Heritage Week (20th-28th August) at the Irish Workhouse Centre
Minecraft: Let’s Build a Workhouse with SnakeDoctor & Solidarity Gaming on Sat, 20th August As part of Heritage Week (20th-28th), join the MineVention team at Portumna Workhouse – help build a replica of the workhouse in a “Build Battle” challenge, while learning tips with Minecraft; included is a meet-up with SnakeDoctor &Solidarity Gaming, a tour of the Workhouse, a quiz, a free-building / Lego room plus games on X-Boxes. The Dirt Diggers for Kids on Saturday, 27th August, 12.30 – 2.30 pm
Get down and dirty on a Fun Archaeology Dig for childen aged 6 to 12. Please wear old clothes! Admission is €2 and booking is required as spaces are limited. Please phone 090-9759200 to book yours!

BINGO
There is Bingoo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,500. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
