SHANNON RANGERS FC
The weekend started with the U/16’s on Saturday in Ballinderry v’s Lough Derg, after a hard fought game they lost 5-3, hard luck lads.
One down and three to go in the league, that’s how it is now for the junior team to reach automatic promotion after a great away win in Borrisokane on Sunday morning. After a shaky first half the goals came thick and fast in the second half through John Flannery with the first after a good move then John Mckenna with a far header from a Jack Sullivan cross. Borrisokane were value for money on the day and pushed our lads hard but Keith Kelly made it 3-0 with a clever lob. Borrisokane pulled one back to make the final score 3-1.Well done to all the lads and thanks to the few extra lads we had on the day. It’s all hands to the pump for the last 3 games, so we need all the players to turn up and help the club get promotion for the first time in its history.
Training/games will be sent by text.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- is on Heating Oil and Diesel Theft. The nationwide increase in the theft of diesel and heating oil should be of concern, most tanks are generally unprotected, unobserved and very easily accessed which leads to stolen supplies. It is preferable that the tank is sited in an area which can be observed by the householder or neighbour. It may be screened by fencing trellis or hedging. Consider installing a motion or light sensor in the area. Ensure that you have a lock on the tank.
