SHANNONSIDE IMPROVEMENTS ASSOCIATION
We currently have vacancies in the following areas: Kilbarron, Aglish and Ballinderry. If you are over 21 years and in receipt of a Social Welfare payment for 12 months, or ages over 62 yeara and meet certain criteria by DSP you could take part on a scheme up to retirement age. CAREER EXHIBITION IN BORRISOKANE
Borrisokane Community College is holding a Career Exhibition on the 27th of September from 6 to 9.30.pm. A large number of Universities, Institutes of Technology, PLC and Agricultural Colleges will attend. Guest speakers on the night. Admission is free and parents and students from our own and other schools most welcome.

NORTH TIPP ALZHEIMER SOCIETY
There will be a meeting of our Support Group in our Office at 3a, Ormond Court, Summerhill, Nenagh on Wednesday 27th. September from 11am. – 12 noon.   Families and/or carers of people with Dementia/Alzheimer’s are invited to come along and receive information and support and also meet other carer’s, have a chat and a “cuppa”.  This meeting is not for Dementia/Alzheimer’s sufferers – it is strictly for families and/or carers only.    For more information contact Mary: 086.6099414 or Aileen: 087.2076814.

KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next lecture will be held in conjunction with the Lorrha & Dorrha Historical Society and will be on Friday September 29th at 8pm in Lorrha Hall. It will be delivered by Alf Monaghan and entitled ‘Monastic Ireland – A Gift of the Nile!’ The talk will trace links with ancient Egypt to Irish monasticism and links between the early Irish Church and the Egyptian Coptic Church. Recent Irish discoveries such as the Faddan More Psalter – Egyptian papyrus found in an ancient book of psalms from a Tipperary bog -will also be discussed. Admission €5.

GURTEEN BADMINTON CLUB
Gurteen Badminton Club’s new season commences Wednesday 20th September at 8pm. Please note that in a change from previous seasons, Adult training will now take place on Wednesdays only, for the immediate future. There will be sessions for any interested beginners from 8pm – 9pm every Wednesday. New members of all standards are welcome. TRAINING COURSES
Are you aged between 16-21? Have you found yourself outside the formal education system but would like to obtain some qualifications while receiving an allowance? At Nenagh Community Training Centre (Nenagh CTC) St. John’s Place, we provide innovative programmes  that include woodwork, horticulture, catering, hairdressing, childcare and I.T., leading to QQI Level 3 and 4 qualifications. CHURCH NEWS
JUSTICE, PEACE AND INTEGRITY OF CREATION
We invite you to join with Nenagh Parish in celebrating ‘Season of Creation’ on September 30th at 2.30pm in the Nenagh Pastoral Centre. We hope to plant what we can reap in the future and have a short discussion on the way the environment links our spirituality. Contact Fr. Ger fitzger@gmail.com

BALLINDERRY SPORTSFIELD LOTTO
The weekly Lotto goes to the continued upkeep and maintenance of the Pavilion and Sportsfield. We are asking that all parents, guardians and players over 18 years would contribute €2 per week to the Lotto, either to the officers of each club each week, or if you wish you may pay by ‘Top Up’ – yearly, 6 monthly or on a monthly basis.  Please contact Marcella at 087 6879502 to arrange this facility.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh, Ardcroney, Borrisokane, Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
