OVER 60’S CLUB
The Over 60’s Club will celebrate the New Year with a party in Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass this Sunday 29th January at 1.30pm. There is a choice of menu with lamb or salmon for the main course followed by trifle or toffee sponge pudding, tea/coffee. The subsidized cost is €10. The afternoon will follow with music and dancing to the music of Seanie. The organisers would like to welcome everyone and look forward to seeing more of our older parishioners coming out for an excellent afternoon and meeting up with neighbours and friends. ROVERS GOLFING SOCIETY AGM
Please note that the annual general meeting of the Shannon Rovers Golfing Society will now take place in Hannigans, Kilbarron this Saturday 28th January at 9pm. POKER CLASSIC
Terryglass and Kilbarron Gun Club are holding a Poker Classic in Hannigan’s Bar, Kilbarron this Sunday 29th January commencing at 6.00pm. Prize money of €1,800 pro rata and refreshments will be served during the evening. (see advert)

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations are extended to Jack and Maureen Hayes, Boherleigh who will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary this weekend. We wish them both many more years of health and happiness.

TIPPERARY GAA MEMBERS DRAW WINNERS
Congratulations are extended to Timmy Tierney on winning the first prize in the January draw and also to Damien Horan and Oliver Darcy on their wins. The presentation of the prizes will take place in Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass on Friday 3rd February.

COMEDY IN RATHCABBIN
Rathcabbin Players will stage the popular and well known Ray Cooney’s comedy “Tom, Dick and Harry” in Rathcabbin Hall from Thursday night January 26th to Sunday night 29th January and from Friday February 3rd to Sunday 5th. A play not to be missed, so you are advised to book early on 087 2360096, between 5.30-8.30pm. TERRYGLASS ICA
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 1st February at 8pm and hostesses for the night are Annette Cahalan and Nora O’Donoghue.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is – Be conscious of securing your home, most day time break-in attempts take place in unoccupied houses, Have suitable locks fitted to all windows and deadlocks to all entry/exit doors. Engage them when you leave your home.

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING
There are still a few days left to recycle your real Christmas trees at the Recycling Centre, Nenagh and Ballaghveny Civic Amenity Site. The final day is Friday 28th January.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Kilbarron and departs from Terryglass at 6.45pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167.
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
Rangers made their exit from the Tipperary Cup with an away loss to Sallypark (a) on Sunday last. Rangers started strongly but went down a goal in the first half and in the second half Sallypark showed their divisional experience and scored four more goals to leave the final score 5-0.
Thank you to all the players who showed up on the day, it was great to have a full squad to choose from. Don’t forget training in the complex in Borrisokane each Wednesday at 8pm. As always all players are asked to attend and new players are always welcome.
