POKER CLASSIC
Terryglass and Kilbarron Gun Club is holding its annual Poker Classic on Sunday 3rd February in Hannigan’s, Kilbarron, commencing at 6pm. Prize money of €1,500 pro rata and refreshments will be served during the evening, all are welcome. (see next week’s advert)

21ST BIRTHDAY
Birthday greetings are extended to Niall Burke, Kilbarron, who recently celebrated his 21st birthday with family and friends in Hannigan’s, Kilbarron. We wish Niall the very best for the future.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
There were no schoolboy’s games at the weekend for our u/13’s and u/16’s, so they both trained on Saturday morning, it is great to see such a good turnout. On Sunday the junior team league game away to Noreside was called off along with all other league games.
Outstanding calendars or money, to be dropped into Elsie’s ASAP, plus any outstanding membership/insurance to be paid to any committee member ASAP.
Fixtures and training will be sent by text.

COMEDY IN RATHCABBIN
Rathcabbin Players present a hilarious comedy ‘The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley’ by Jimmy Keary, in Rathcabbin Hall from Thursday night 24th January to Sunday night 27th January at 8.30pm and the following weekend for three nights, Friday 1st February to Sunday 3rd February, Booking is essential on (087) 2360096 between 6-9pm please.

TERRYGLASS ICA
Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday 6th February at 8pm and hostesses for the night are Annette Cahalan and Nora O’Donoghue.

SET DANCING
As part of the music school in Terryglass set dancing and sean-nos dancing classes for all age groups, young and old, will take place on Thursday nights from 7-8pm in Terryglass Hall.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is- Be conscious of securing your home, most day time break-in attempts take place in unoccupied homes. Have suitable locks fitted to all windows and deadlocks to all entry doors. Engage them when you leave your home.

CHURCH NEWS
The next ritual for the First Holy Communion and Confirmation will take place this Sunday 27th January at the 11am Mass in Kilbarron.
Adoration is on every Wednesday night from 6.30-7.30pm in Kilbarron Church. We would like to invite people to drop in, even for ten minutes.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The first outing of 2013 will take place on Monday 4th February when the club will visit The Derg, Terryglass for a meal followed my an afternoon of music, song and dance. The choice of main course is Beef or Sea Trout and the dessert is either cherry trifle or rice and the subsidized cost is €10. Names and menu choices can be given to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237 or Loretta Tiernan 28066.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Terryglass at 6.50pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly
