IRISH CANCER SOCIETY
There will be a Church Gate Collection this weekend, Saturday 27th /Sunday 28th April, at all Masses in Terryglass and Kilbarron. Your continued generous support for this worthy cause would be much appreciated.

ENROLMENT
Enrolment for Terryglass National School September 2013- parents who wish to enrol their children can do so by phoning the Principal, Noreen Sheridan, on 067 22269 on or before 12 noon on Tuesday 30th April.

GOOD WISHES
Our good wishes are extended to the children of Kilbarron who will receive their First Holy Communion this Sunday in Kilbarron Church at 11am. We wish them and their families a very special day.

TERRYGLASS ICA
The monthly meeting of Terryglass ICA Guild took place on Wednesday 3rd April in Terryglass Community Hall. Votes of sympathy were expressed with all the families who had bereavements since our last meeting and a minutes silence was observed.
This was our Annual General Meeting and Anne Clarke, Information Specialist, was in attendance. Our president, vice-president and secretary were automatically re-elected and a new treasurer, Mary Quirke, was proposed. There is a Federation Meeting in Ballingarry on April 22nd and five members are to attend. A beautiful supper was provided by Biddy and Gerardine.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 1st May at 8pm and hostesses for the night are Annette Cahalan and Nora O’Donoghue.

CONGRATULATIONS
Our congratulations are extended to Seanie Gleeson, Terryglass, on his recent musical award from Limerick Mid-West Radio 102.

ENROLMENT
‘Little Feet’- Pre-school and Montessori, Kilbarron is now taking names for September 2013. Morning sessions available for ages 2-5 years. ECCE registered, all children can avail of a free year before going to National School. For further information call Charlene on 086 3355884.

WELCOME
We welcome into our community Matilda Cahalan, who was recently baptised.

OPERATION TRANSFORMATION
Operation Transformation has started again each Wednesday night at 8pm in Kilbarron Hall, and Boxercise classes suitable for all levels of fitness will take place.

SWALLOWS
The bird watchers of the parish have at last seen the first swallows of 2013 in our area at the beginning of last week. This is two weeks later than last year.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- is ‘Cash and Financial Security’. Thieves and burglars like nothing better than cash, it is important to observe the following as far as possible. Do not keep large amounts of cash in the home. Keep all credit and debit cards in a secure location, including bank and other financial books and statements. Old and out of date credit and debit cards should be appropriately disposed of. Do not give your credit or debit card password to anyone and when out and about avoid having large sums of money on your person.

CHURCH NEWS
Please notes the change of Mass times for this Sunday, Mass in Terryglass is 9.30am and in Kilbarron the Mass at 11am if the First Holy Communion.

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY
Maintenance fees for Terryglass cemetery are due to the treasurer, John Mulvihill, 087 2185833, e-mail terryglasscemetery@gmail.com.

PORTUMNA PLAYERS DRAMA GROUP
The Portumna Players Drama Group will stage Sean Casey’s ‘The Plough and the Stars’ on Thursday 25th/Friday 26th/ Sunday 28th April, under the directorship of Declan Kelly. Curtain up is at 8pm and tickets are €10 and €5 for children.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Kilbarron, Ballinderry and Terryglass to the Saturday 8pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.10pm. For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.
