SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Alison O’Meara, Kevinstown, on the recent death of her mother Mary Ann Deere, Newtown, Nenagh.

TERRYGLASS/KILBARRON ENTERPRISE GROUP
The Terryglass/Kilbarron Enterprise Group is now planning a Christmas Market in Terryglass in December. Anyone interested in partaking by taking a stand please contact Michael on 086 8466461 before Monday 18th October.

TERRYGLASS ICA
The monthly meetings of Terryglass ICA Guild resumed after the summer holiday on Wednesday 7th September in Terryglass Community Hall. Votes of sympathy were extended to all families who had bereavements since our last meeting. A minutes silence was observed.
All members thoroughly enjoyed our summer outing to Galway. Most members are attending a computer course in Nenagh and aqua aerobics are resuming in October.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 5th October at 8pm. and hostesses for the night are Mollie Hyland and Nancy Ryan.

We welcome into our community Edward Bannon who was recently baptised.

BUILDING FOR HOPE
Michael McGeeney and Gerry O’Rourke are requesting your support of donations of timber or turf as they prepare for their first fund raising event to support Fr. John Molloy’s appeal for volunteers to help build a home for blind orphans in Kenya. They expect to travel to Kenya in early February and any amount will be appreciated. JUMBLE SALE
Time is ticking by to that special yearly event the Halloween Charity Jumble Sale. Any saleable items such as bric-a-brac, books, toys, plants, pictures etc., would be most welcome also anything that would make a suitable raffle prize.
Volunteers needed and willing help greatly appreciated especially for the preparation of the sale and the clean-up afterwards..
The proceeds of the sale will go to St. Vincent de Paul and also to two local men who will be travelling to Kenya with Fr. John Molloy’s project ‘Build For Hope’. For more information contact Mary McGeeney on 067 22164 or Anita Foyle.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ – Don’t leave anything on display in your car, even in your driveway and if you leave things in the car while shopping in town put them out of sight locked in your boot.

NATIONAL TRAILS DAY
National Trails Day will take place on Sunday 2nd October and includes a variety of walks for all levels of fitness. Local walks include Knockanroe Loop (Silvermines) 4.5km, starting at 12noon and Garrykennedy to Dromineer 20km starting at 11am (take a lake cruise back to Garrykennedy for €5).  For more information see www.nationaltrailsday.ie or contact Con Ryan on 087 0556465

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €20, €20 and €30 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively, with the full house before the break rising to €100 and €50 for the last one. There is a flyer for €200 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding areas and cost €5 return, i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Kilbarron, Coolbawn and Ballinderry to the 8.00pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.15pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOC.
Forthcoming events for the month of October include the annual Bric-a-Brac Sale on Monday 10th October in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane, at 1.30pm  and the Halloween Party on Monday 24th October at 1pm, consisting of a hot meal followed by an afternoon of music, song and dance, subsidized cost €10.
The club meets every Monday in the Church of Ireland Hall, from 2-4pm, for light exercises for older people, bingo, refreshments and chat. The group also meets on Thursday afternoon for a healthy keep fit afternoon of either, Pitch and Putt, Shuffleboard, Boules or just a walk, followed by light refreshments.
