THE LATE EILEEN STARR
The death of Eileen Starr, nee Hough, Garryard, Borrisokane , occurred on Monday 16th July. Removal took place from her residence on Wednesday to S.S. Peter and Paul’s Church, Borrisokane, and after Requiem Mass burial took place in Terryglass cemetery beside her late husband Willie. Eileen was a much loved mother and grandmother, a kind and gentle lady held in high regard by all who knew her. Sympathy is extended to her son Louis, daughters Geraldine, Teresa and Marie, sister Nora, grandchildren , sons-in-law, relatives and friends.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
The club held a very constructive meeting last week to decide on the management structure for the new season and have also decided to enter 2 schoolboy teams, U/13 and U/16 level.
Thanks to all who came on the night and added their input and decided to help out. More details to follow.
The junior team will resume training this Wednesday night in Ballinderry at 8pm, all players to attend.
Anyone interested in helping out with the schoolboys or junior teams or if they have children interested in playing schoolboys please contact the club secretary on 087 3110422.  Junior team registration/insurance now due at €45 and can be paid to any committee member.

21ST BIRTHDAYS
Birthday greetings are extended to Jane Hannigan, Kilbarron, Danny Burke, Kilbarron and Claire Corbett who together celebrated their 21st birthdays in Hannigans last Saturday. We wish them all the very best in the future.

TERRYGLASS ARTS FESTIVAL
There is a bumper program of workshops for this year‘s Terryglass Arts Festival, with 60 taking place over three days, offering fun filled family entertainment and featuring artists and crafts people of both national and international renown.  The many workshops will be held over three days to provide a weekend jam packed with entertainment for all the family. From necklace making to ceramics, music and dance, there is something to keep busy fingers entertained.
There is a wide range of musical treats from 15-19th August, not to be missed is the opening recital from well known French Horn and Harp Duo, Mary Curran and Aisling Ennis in Terryglass Hall on the Wednesday,

BIRTHDAYS
50th birthday greetings are extended to Margaret Fox and Caroline O’Dwyer both residents of Brocka. Ballinderry, who recently celebrated their birthdays in Coolbawn Quay. We wish them both well for the future.

RAMBLING HOUSE
Last Thursday night saw the first night of ‘The Rambling House’ being held in the new tea rooms, River Run, from 8-10pm each Thursday.  Please come and join us and bring along your stories, song, music and dance or just come along and listen. TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
The weekly ‘working nights’ meet in the village square at 7.30pm each Tuesday, volunteers are always welcome.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- If anyone has seem or sees what they think are suspicious vehicles/persons in the area, please contact the Gardai. Be alert to strange vehicles passing by the same road many times or vehicles in lay-bys that seem unusual. If contacting the Gardai to report a suspicious vehicle give as good a description as possible e.g. van/car/truck, colour, make, model and of course the best information of all is a registration number (or even part of one). Remember you must never challenge anyone behaving suspiciously or put yourself in danger.

SHANNON ROVERS GOLF CLASSIC
The annual Shannon Rovers Golf Classic takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, 6th August, in Portumna Golf Course. €2,500 in prizes. Time Sheet in operation, please phone 090 9741059.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Coolbawn, Ballinderry and Terryglass to the Saturday 8pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.15pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.
