POKER CLASSIC
Terryglass and Kilbarron Game and Conservation Club is holding its annual Poker Classic this Sunday 2nd February in Hannigans, Kilbarron, commencing at 6pm. Prize money of €1,500 pro rata, entry is €25 and refreshments will be served during the evening, all are welcome. (see advert)

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Joan O’Dwyer and Teresa O’Dwyer, Ballinderry, on the recent death of their brother Noel Gleeson, Ballycasey, Borrisokane.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
Birthday greetings are extended to Josie Carroll, Kilbiller, Coolbawn, who will celebrate her 88th birthday on Sunday 2nd February. We all wish Josie many more years of health and happiness.

TERRYGLASS ICA
The next meeting is this Wednesday 5th February at 8pm, in Terryglass Community Hall, hostesses for the night are Margaret Molloy and Nuala Guest. New members are always welcome.

RATHCABBIN PLAYERS
Rathcabbin Players return to the stage this coming weekend on Thurs. 30th Jan, Fri 31st Jan. Sat. 1st Feb. and Sun. 2nd Feb. in Rathcabbin Hall with its powerful production of the Billy Roche play ‘Poor Beast in the Rain’. Booking is necessary to be sure of a seat on (087) 2360096 between 6-9pm daily.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The Tip of the Week is – ‘Out and About’-if travelling by car keep doors locked and be alert when parking and getting out of your car. On public transport sit as close to the driver as possible. Keep wallets and purses out of sight, handbags and shoulder bags should be kept close to the body.

KILBARRON OPERATION TRANSFORMATION
Kilbarron Operation Transformation continues each Tuesday night with circuit training in Kilbarron Hall on Tuesdays at 7.45pm. New members welcome.

CHURCH NEWS
This Saturday 1st Feb. is the Feast of St. Brigid and Sun 2nd Feb. is the Feast of the Presentation. As Monday 3rd Feb. is the Feast of St. Blaise, blessing of throats will take place at all weekend Masses.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOC.

The first outing of 2014 will take place on Monday 17th February when the club will visit The Thatch, Ballycommon, for a meal followed by an afternoon of music, song and dance from the popular Seanie Gleeson. The choice of main course is Beef and Yorkshire pudding, Stuffed Turkey or Herbed Cod, for dessert, trifle, apple crumble or strawberry roulade.
