KILBARRON DRAMA GROUP
Kilbarron Drama Group will perform John B Keane’s classic play ‘The Year of the Hiker’ on Friday 4th April, Sat. 5th and Sun. 6th at 8.30pm in Kilbarron Hall. This year’s strong cast is led by Willie Lennox as ‘The Hiker’ and includes Joe O’Meara, Geraldine Dunne, Sharon Dunne and Andrew Dagg. We welcome two new faces to Kilbarron, Kevin Ryan, Puckane and Leonie Gleeson, Borrisokane. We are also very pleased to have Phil Quigley with us again as director. This play is set in the 1960’s and is about a man who one day went on a walk and didn’t come home. After his family endures twenty years of sorrow and anger, ‘The Hiker’ returns home on the night of his daughter’s wedding. The only reason he returns is so that he can die in peace and hopes to find reconciliation and forgiveness. But his wife, sons and daughter, being abandoned by ‘The Hiker’ may be more than they are ready to forgive.
Mark the dates in your diary and join us for a play that joins drama and humour in a story you won’t forget.
