ALZHEIMER’S TEA DAY
The Alzheimer’s Day Tea will be held this Thursday 1st May and the organisers are inviting everyone to a ‘cup of tea and a chat’ in Aileen Cahalan’s, Curnamult, Terryglass, from 7pm. onwards. Every euro raised at our party will go to the continuation of services in North Tipperary, to enable people with Alzheimer’s to be cared for in their own homes for as long as possible. All are welcome.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Pat Page, Lacken, Terryglass, on the recent death of his mother Maureen Page, Woodford, Co. Galway.

GOLF BALL RACE
Shannon Rovers Juvenile Club is holding a Golf Ball Race around Kilbarron village on Sunday 4th May at 6pm. All are welcome to take part and tickets are on sale at €5 each from juvenile coaches. Spot prizes on the night..

TERRYGLASS ICA
The monthly meeting of Terryglass ICA Guild took place on Wednesday 2nd April in Terryglass Community Hall. Votes of sympathy were passed with the Nolan family on the death of Julia, the Burke family on the death of Annie and the Larkin family on the death of Dixton and a minutes silence was observed.
This was our annual general meeting and Anne Clarke, Information Specialist, was in attendance. Our president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer were re-elected. On the evening Gerardine Wisdom displayed her portfolio of photographs of her many and varied rush work designs.
On April 4th members attended the Presentation of Certificates by National President, Liz Wall, to members to mark their years in the ICA, this was preceded by a beautiful meal in the Abbey Court Hotel.
The next meeting is on Wednesday 7th May at 8pm and hostesses for the night are Bridie Cahalan and Mary Quirke.

KILBARRON/TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next meeting of Kilbarron/Terryglass Historical Society will be held on Friday 9th May, details next week.

KILBARRON DRAMA GROUP
A DVD of Kilbarron Drama Group’s recent production ‘The Year of the Hiker’ is available. If you would like to order a copy please contact Margaret on 087 2772545.

KILBARRON 200
The next meeting of Kilbarron 200 takes place this Thursday 1st May at 8pm in the Old School Hall, Kilbarron.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Please start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped into Kilbarron School any Friday from now on, until collection date, June 5th. If you need to have your bags collected please contact Carmel Fox on 087 6359492.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The Tip of the Week is- When out walking or cycling it is important to be seen. Vulnerable road users are pedestrians, motor cyclists, young children and older people. Reflective jackets should be worn at all times.

CHURCH NEWS
Friday 2nd May is the First Friday and Mass is in Kilbarron at 9am and in Terryglass at 8pm, preceded by Adoration at 7pm and Benediction at 7.50pm. Confessions will be available before both Masses.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 .
