LOOKING FOR FAMILIES TO HOST ITALIAN STUDENTS IN JULY 2015

HISTORICAL SOCIETY SUMMER OUTING
The Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society are planning a summer outing to Glasnevin Cemetery and The National War Memorial Gardens at Islandbridge in Dublin. The provisional date is Sunday June 28th 2015. If anyone is interested could they contact any member of the Society Committee or email kilbarronterryglasshistsociety@gmail.com. Once we have an idea of approximate numbers of those interested in going we can finalise the cost per head. Contact can also be made via the Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society Facebook Page. The trip is open to everyone, both members and non-members.

NEW MASS TIMES Masses will be as follows – From April 4th /5th
Kilbarron – Saturday 8pm. Terryglass – Sunday 10am.
All evening Masses during summertime will be at 8pm.
HOLY WEEK CEREMONIES IN OUR PARISH
Penetential Service – in Borrisokane Church on Wednesday April 1st at 8pm. Led by Fr. John Molloy. Please come along and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of our preparation for Easter.
Holy Thursday – Terryglass: 8pm. The Mass of the Lord’s Supper
This is an invitation to hear the call of Jesus to serve His people, as He
Himself did, by giving His whole life in love to us and His Father.
Adoration at the Altar of Repose after Mass.
Good Friday – Kilbarron: 3pm. Celebration of the Lord’s Passion
This is an invitation to see that the Lord Jesus is still suffering in the
suffering of His people.
Good Friday – Terryglass: 7.30pm. Stations of the Cross
This is a quiet reflection as we gather around the Cross on this sacred
evening. We will walk the way of the Cross outside on the Little Wood
Trail.
Easter Saturday – Kilbarron 8.30pm. Easter Vigil
This is the high point of our Easter Tridium and is an invitation to be always hopeful in Christ’s suffering and victory.
Easter Sunday – Dawn Mass: Skehana 6.30am
For safety and convenience of parking please come in by Coolbawn and
home by Luska.
Easter Sunday Morning Mass – Terryglass: 10am

YOUTH TO LOURDES: This year 40 young people will travel to Lourdes as part of the Diocesan Pilgrimage (June 26th to July 1st) to work as helpers to the sick. We are hoping to sponsor a young person from our Parish (from Transition year upwards and must be and under 18 years on date of travel ) to be part of this group. If you are interested please give your name to the Parish office by Sunday April 5th.

SHANNON ROVERS U8 TEAM
Hurling training for Shannon Rovers u6 and u8 teams takes place on Saturday morning at 11am and Tuesday evenings at 7pm,in Ballinderry Sportsfield. New players are welcome. Any inquiries to Donie Hourigan 087 2374742, Liam Gorman 0877721134.

TERRYGLASS ANGLING & CONSERVATION CLUB
The competition held on Sunday 22nd March 2015 was a huge success for the Clubs first event of the 2015 season. There are currently almost 60 members and Sundays event saw 27 members enjoying the ideal weather and fishing for trout. The competition was held over a 6 hour period from 10am to 4pm, and a large crowd gathered in glorious sunshine at Paddy’s Bar for the Prize giving, which were presented by Councillor Joe Hannigan. The results were as follows:-
1st Prize Seamus Murphy heaviest trout at 5lb 13ozs, 2nd Prize Vincent Mulvihill 2lb 8ozs, 3rd Prize Ashton Brandt 2lb 7ozs
Juveniles under 16’s:- 1st Prize heaviest trout Sam Patton at 1lb 5ozs,
2nd Prize Michael Mulvihill 1lb 1ozs, 3rd Prize Ali Mulvihill 1lb 0ozs
Thanks and acknowledgements were made by the Clubs Chairman for Maureen Kenny of Portumna Angling Shop who sponsored the Juveniles prizes of vouchers, and trout lures which were presented to all under 16 participants. Also to Paddys Bar who provided food and refreshments at the prize giving. There will be further competitions held in mid April and through the month of May for the annual May Fly hatching period. BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
