THE LATE VERA DOWNEY
The death has occurred of Vera Downey, nee Hynes, Terryglass. After reposing at her residence on Friday evening removal took place on Saturday morning to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Terryglass for Funeral Mass. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. Vera was a much loved wife, mother and sister. She was a gentle lady held in high regards by all who knew her and she had a great fondness for music. Sympathy is extended to her husband PJ, sons Tomas and Brian, sister, Mary, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Frank Ryan, Killea, on the recent death of his mother Mary Ryan, Milford, Borrisokane.

KILBARRON NEW CEMETERY
The fees for Kilbarron New Cemetery are now due. Payment may be made to the following: Tom Casey, Marie Starr, Willie Joe Tiernan or Jim O’Donoghue. €7 for an open grave and €5 for a non-open grave.

WELCOME
We welcome into our community Michael Doyle, who was recently baptised.

KILBARRON GROUP WATER SCHEME
The annual general meeting of the Kilbarron Group Water Scheme will take place on Monday 7th July, in the Old School Hall, Kilbarron, at 8.30pm.

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
The weekly working evening meets in the village square at 7pm each Tuesday, volunteers are always welcome.
Once again please be vigilant regarding discarded litter and householders are encouraged to keep their own surrounds looking good.

KILBARRON DEVELOPMENT
Work continues to progress well in the village and surrounds. If you can spare time on a Tuesday evening please come along to the village around 7pm all help would be much appreciated.

BALLINDERRY VILLAGE IMPROVEMENTS
Ballinderry Village Improvements meets each Thursday at 7pm at Elsie Hogan’s. Please bring bags and weeding equipment, all ages welcome.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The Tip of the Week is- Keeping your home safe while away on holidays. If you have a domestic alarm, inform your monitoring centre. If you are absent ensure nominated key holders will attend promptly to any activation. Make full use of light timing devises. If you are going to be away from your home for a long period notify the Garda Station. Carry out housekeeping exercises around the grounds of the house and remove or secure any unsecured items. Arrange for a neighbour or family to collect your mail. Be aware of any insurance limitations on vacant properties.

CHURCH NEWS
The Cemetery Mass will take place in Kilbarron this Wednesday 2nd July at 8pm and in Terryglass on Sunday 13th July at 10am, please contact families outside the parish who have relatives buried here.
Friday 4th July is the First Friday and Mass is in Kilbarron at 9am and in Terryglass at 8pm preceded by Adoration at 7pm and Benediction at 7.50pm. Confessions are available before both Masses.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 .

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The coach for the trip to Galway and Salthill on July 14th is full, however if you wish to go on a waiting list please contact Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237 or Loretta Tiernan 28066.
The club continues to meet each Monday all through the summer in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane, from 2-4pm for gentle exercises for older people, bingo, chat and refreshments.
