TERRYGLASS ARTS FESTIVAL
The annual general meeting of Terryglass Arts Festival will be held this Thursday 6th June at 8pm in Terryglass Community Hall. Everyone is invited to attend and the organisers would be happy to see new people getting involved.

ENGAGEMENT
Our congratulations are extended to Grainne Ryan, Ballyscanlon, Coolbawn, on her recent engagement to Stephen Mitchell, Leeds, England, and we wish them well for the future.

GOOD LUCK
We wish the best of luck to all our Leaving and Junior Certificate students who start their exams this Wednesday 5th June.

NTH TIPP HOSPICE HOMECARE MOVEMENT
As part of the National Sunflower Day our hospice volunteers will be collecting on the streets of Nenagh this Friday 7th June and in other areas on Friday 14th June, Your continued support would be much appreciated. All funds raised are kept in the area to maintain our hospice service.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
Birthday greetings are extended to Boysie Moore, Coolbawn, who celebrates his 89th birthday on Thursday 6th June. We wish Boysie many more years of health and happiness.
Greetings to George Ryan, Ballyscanlon, who celebrated his 60th birthday at a surprise family party on June 3rd and Peggy Hough, Kevinstown, who also celebrated her 60th birthday last weekend with family and friends in Hannigan’s.. We wish them both all the best for the future.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Marie Hough, Shragh, on the recent death of her mother, Mary Cleary, Borrisokane.

TERRYGLASS ICA
Our next meeting will take place a week later than normal on Wednesday 12th June at 8pm, and this will be the last meeting before the summer break. Hostesses for the night are Bridie Cahalan and Mary Quirke.

KILBARRON TIDY TOWNS
The weekly working evenings are going well and if you can spare some time on a Monday evening please come along to the village around 7pm, all help would be much appreciated.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- Preventing theft of farm machinery. (1) Store your tools and smaller machinery in secure buildings close to the farmhouse. Photograph machinery and tools, keep a record of serial numbers and colours. Mark the property with a unique identifiable mark in both an obvious and secret location. (2) Restrict access to your farmyard, install gates and fix them to sturdy concrete or metal posts. Keep them locked and consider appropriate signing such as ‘Private Property’. (3) Consider installing CCTV in vulnerable areas out of view of the farmhouse. Install good lighting and illuminate areas viewed from the house by CCTV.

SHANNON ROVERS CUL CAMP
Shannon Rovers Cul Camp 2013 will run from 15th -19th July and is open to boys and girls from 6-13 years of age. For further information contact Tommy Hogan 087 2444092

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
Work is on -going to have our village well presented for this year’s Tidy Towns Competition. Meet in the square on Tuesdays at 7.30pm, all are welcome. Once again householders are being asked to be vigilant regarding discarded litter.

CHURCH NEWS
The Annual Parish Novena to the Sacred Heart will continue as follows: Kilbarron Church- on Wednesday 5th June 7-7.45pm (before Mass) and on Thursday 6th June 8-8.45pm. In Terryglass Church Friday 7th June 7-7.45pm followed by Mass at 8pm, the First Friday and the Mass of the Sacred Heart.
The Novena will consist of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and during that time we will have the rosary and Novena Prayers. We hope as many people as possible will come for the full time, however if this is not possible please feel free to drop in even for five or ten minutes, all welcome.
Please note that the First Friday calls will be made on Thursday 6th June.
The annual Cemetery Masses will take place in Kilbarron on Wednesday 28th June and in Terryglass on Friday 5th July, both at 8pm. This is an opportunity for people to come, remember and pray for those who have died. Please contact families from outside the parish who have relatives or friends buried in our cemeteries.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.
