THE LATE THOMAS ALBIE BURKE
The death has occurred of Albie Burke, Kylebeg. Kilbarron. After reposing at Keller’s Funeral Home on Friday evening removal took place to Kilbarron Church on Saturday afternoon for Funeral Mass followed by burial in the adjacent cemetery. Albie, who was predeceased by his wife Peg, was a much loved father, grandfather and brother. He was a well-known and highly regarded member of the farming community. Albie was a lifelong member of the Shannon Rovers GAA Club and an illustrious player in his time, and was awarded a life presidency by the club, he had also served on the Parish Council. Sympathy is extended to his sons Tom, Mike, Kevin, Paddy and Gerard, daughters Carmel, Anna and Mairead, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brother Jim, sister Marie, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Anna Ryan, Roran, on the recent death of her mother Dympna Guinan, Lorrha.

KILBARRON/TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Historical Society meets on the second Friday of each month in the Pavilion at the Sportsfield, Ballinderry.

TERRYGLASS ICA
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 5th March at 8pm in Terryglass Community Hall, hostesses for the night are Noi and Gerardine.

ENROLMENT FOR TERRYGLASS NS.
Enrolment of pupils wishing to start Terryglass NS in September 2014 is now taking place. Please contact the Principal, Noreen, Sheridan, on 067 22269 before Friday 14th March.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The Tip of the Week is – is Home Security. Fit a door viewer this will allow you to safely see who is outside prior to opening the door. Fit a door chain limiter this will allow you some control over security. Front and back doors should be kept locked day and night. Windows should also be locked.

KILBARRON OPERATION TRANSFORMATION
Kilbarron Operation Transformation continues each Tuesday night with circuit training in Kilbarron Hall on Tuesdays at 7.45pm. New members welcome.

CHURCH NEWS
Wednesday5th March is Ash Wednesday and Mass is in Kilbarron at 7.30pm, Confession before Mass. During Lent a little prayer and reflection around the Sunday readings will take place in Kilbarron NS on Wednesday evenings from 8-9pm. All are welcome.
Friday 7th March is the First Friday and Mass is in Kilbarron at 9am and in Terryglass at 7.30pm, preceded by Adoration at 6.30pm and Benediction at 7.20pm, Confession available before both Masses.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
There will not be a meeting of the group on Monday 17th March.
Our next outing will take place to The Derg, Terryglass, on Monday 24th March at 1pm for a meal and an afternoon of music, song and dance with the ever popular Seanie. The menu choice is either beef or sea trout and dessert of cherry trifle or rice. The subsidized cost is €10 and names can be given to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237 or Loretta Tiernan 28066.
