RECENT WEDDING
Congratulations to Orla Hourigan, Brocka and Padraig Bourke, Richmond, Nenagh who were married recently in Terryglass Church. We wish them both a long and happy life together.

PANTO IS BACK
Casting for this year’s panto ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs@ takes place on Friday October 7th at 8pm in the big hall, Kilbarron. As per last year we are looking for adults and teens (15 and over) firstly, and will then introduce younger children at a later time. Come and join the fun factory and be part of something crazy !!

KILBARRON TERRYGHLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The next talk hosted by the Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society will be held on Friday October 14th at 8pm in the Pavillion Ballinderry. It will be given by John Fletcher on ‘The Minnitts of Anabeg’. This true story was turned into a very successful film and tells the story of Joshua Minnitt an English Justice of the Peace during the Irish Famine who worked tirelessly with his family to fight the famine and save a community. Entry: Non-members €5, Members €2 Society Membership fees are also due for 2016-2017; Family €30, adult €20, student €15

KILBARRON WALKERS
Now that the longer evenings are here why not come out and get a bit of exercise. The walkers will meet at 8pm in the village carpark. We intend walking 5 evenings per week, so come along any evening that suits you. Walkers of all ages and fitness levels welcome, just bring your hi-viz and a flashlamp. LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION
Our next outing is on Monday 10th Oct,to The Thatched Cottage at 1pm for a 3 course meal followed by an afternoon of music, song and dance with Seanie. Menu choice is Beef, Turkey or Salmon, dessert trifle or bread and butter pudding. Subsidized cost €10. Names to Jimmy Donnelly or Loretta Tiernan.

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY COMMITTEE

In advance of the upcoming AGM any outstanding annual maintenance fees for 2016 for the cemetery in Terryglass, should be forwarded to John Mulvihill, Treasurer, at the earliest convenience. CHURCH NEWS
Baptism. We welcome Emmet Molloy into our Christian community. Emmet is son of Seamus and Yvonne, Roran, Borrisokane.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues in Kilbarron Church every Wednesday from 10am to 3pm and 7pm to 8pm. We invite all parishioners to drop in for a short while during that time to sit in the presence of Jesus.
CONGRATULATIONS : To our new Bishop Fintan Monahan who was ordained Bishop of our Diocese last Sunday. His Episcopal motto is ‘Chríost Liom, Chríost Romham’ (Christ be with me, Christ be before me). He outlined some of his priorities which are vocations promotion, care of the clergy, faith renewal, evangelization, expanding the great involvement of laity, youth ministry, religious education, safeguarding children in the church, protection of life, family ministry, liturgy and Eucharistic adoration. We welcome him and keep him in our prayers.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION 2017:
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered in Kilbarron Church on Sunday May 21st 2017 at 11am.
First Holy Communion takes place as follows: Kilbarron – Sunday April 30th at 11am Terryglass – Sunday May 7th at 11am.

SMALL COINS
Knigh United Girls Soccer club are collecting 1c and 2c coins . If you have any small coins lying around that you would be willing to donate, please contact Marcella at 087 6879502.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to Kilbarron school any Friday from now on. If you need to have your bags collected please contact Siobhan at 087 6986054.

BINGO

There is Bingoo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,500. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
