SHANNON RANGERS FC
Shannon Rangers made its exit from the 3rd Division Shield semi-final last Saturday evening in Cloughjordan against Cloughjordan (b). Rangers battled hard in the 90 minutes and were unlucky not to go ahead in the first half but had to soak up a lot of pressure in the second. Yet again the game went to penalties where Rangers lost 4-1 in the shoot -out. But all is not lost as we still have the league and two more Cups to look forward to. Training times will be sent by text and all players to attend.
As you may be aware the club has decided to enter u/13 and u/16 schoolboy teams, these two teams could not be started without the generous sponsorship from Ray Burke/Midge O’Meara of the u/13’s and Riverdale Nursing Home of the u/16’s. The club would like to say massive thanks for their sponsorship and to ‘Elsie’s’ for its continued sponsorship of the senior team.
Any children interested in playing u/16 please contact the u/16 coach Keith Kelly at 086 1997675 and for u/13’s please contact coach, Ray Burke at 087 7423990. Training for both every Saturday morning at 11am in Ballinderry.
