Feast of St. Swithin 15th JulySt. Swithin is an Anglo-Saxon bishop of Winchester who lived in the 9th century. He was famous for his charitable works. According to tradition, on his death bed, he requested to be buried outside where passers-by could walk over his grave and raindrops fall upon it. Nine years later the shrine was built inside Winchester Cathedral for his remains. On 15th July 971 during the ceremony it started to rain and continued for another forty days. It also said if St. Swithin’s feast is fine it will continue for forty days.

Booking of Masses – Masses for Months Mind and Anniversaries can be booked by phone, text or email to keep entry to the sacristies to a minimum.

WELCOME BACK

Please observe social distancing at all times.

Members of your local parish community have been working hard to ensure that everything has been put in place to ensure that all of us feel as safe as we possibly can when we return to our parish churches.

Seating capacity is reduced in all our churches (most recent guidelines put a maximum figure of 50 people).

*  2 meter distance rule applies, however members of the same house hold may sit together.

*  Stewards will be on duty to guide you to a seat.

*   Hand sanitizer will be provided at the door.

*   Outside speakers will be in operation for each Mass.

*   Everyone must enter through the main door and exit via the side doors of the church.

*  Baskets will be available at the side door exits where you may deposit your contributions and envelopes.  It is also possible to donate to the parish by using the donate button on the diocesan website.

*  We ask people to take responsibility for your own safety and respect the safety of others.

*   We are also appealing for people to volunteer their time. If you are willing to help, please contact the Parish Office or any member of the PPC.

You plant seeds every single day, in the world and in others, with every thought you think and word you speak and action you take. You have influence. You’re making a dent in the universe and you matter, in a very real way.

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.
