PRIEST’S IN-SERVICE  From Sunday 15th October until Wednesday 18th October. It is hoped that all priests would be completely free from pastoral engagements during this time.

Mission Sunday is next Sunday and you are invited to pray for the Missions and kindly donate to the Missions. This year’s theme “Hearts on fire, feet on the move”

 

A PASTORAL LETTER FROM BISHOP FINTAN, entitled Going forward in Faith, Hope and Love will be launched in the diocese on Mission Sunday, Oct. 21-22.  Hard copies will be available in Churches next weekend and also on the diocesan website.

UNIVERSAL SYNOD ON SYNODALITY The Synod continues in Rome with the commencement of the next module of discernment entitled. “A communion that radiates: How can we be more fully a sign and instrument of union with God and of the unity of all humanity?” In the language of the Second Vatican Council the Synod reflected on the mission of the Church to be in Christ, the sign and instrument of unity with God and all humanity Their discussions, prayer and discernment were to be focuses on the question of a dignified communion where the Church encounters Christ who already sits at table with the poorest. Included in the topics for discernment were migrants, those who suffer abuse, those who are not accepted and welcomed for whatever reason and the issue of sexual identity.
